Henrik Stenson's late surge was enough for RedRage to take yet another victory in the Fantasy League. Stenson's round of 64 was the joint lowest score of the day and he finished third just behind BlueCoverman's Ian Poulter. Even if Poulter had won RedRage still had enough in reserve to take victory; Marcel Siem and Tyrrell Hatton also earned points for RedRage. BlueCoverman was able to recoup some of his third round slip to take second on the back of Poulter's fine play. LadyPutt just pipped Mary_S to third place as she had two picks score points compared to Mary's solitary pick. SetupDetermines didn't have any of his picks score points but he still had enough to hold off Davie who finally troubled the scorers. Davie's pick of Victor Dubuisson also shot 64 and finished 15th to double it up.
The three Turkish amateurs finished in the last spots on the leaderboard some 50 or so shots behind the winner. Their final round scores weren't too bad considering with scores from 74-76.
The DP World Tour Championship ends the Final Series and although the Race to Dubai has been sewn up it's still all to play for in the final event of the Summer/Autumn standings as just five points separates the podium placings.

One player is yet to finish round 3 but it won't make much difference to the scoring for the Fantasy Leaguers. 65 was the low round score and popular pick Sergio Garcia was the one to shoot that number. That earned points for LadyPutt, Mary_S, and SetupDetermines. This meant it was all change on the leaderboard as all three of those Fantasy Leaguers added another pick in the Low Round scores. RedRage also had two picks score points and also overtakes BlueCoverman on the leaderboard. Davie is the only one yet to get off of the mark and it's as you were in the Summer/Autumn standings.
69 or lower was the the magic number for the low round scores and it was no surprise that the three of the Turkish amateurs had the worse rounds of the day.

No one picked the old timer in Miguel Angel Jimenez who rolled back the years with a flawless 63 to take the lead in the Turkish Airlines Open. His closest challenger is BlueCoverman's "lil girl" Ian Poulter who had a 64. Tyrrell Hatton also had a great round with a 65 to take one of the final spots in the Top 5 Low Round Scores. BlueCoverman also picked Hatton along with RedRage. Blue's bonus points sees him leapfrog LadyPutt and put him 10 points away from the top spot in the Summer/Autumn standings as it stands.
It's a good job there isn't going to be a cut as a third of the picks failed to break par. There's plenty of big names joining the lesser known Turkish amateurs at the bottom of the leaderboard.

The penultimate event of the 2014 Race to Dubai is in Turkey. The top ranked player is Sergio Garcia and he is joined by 12 other players from the top 50 in the world rankings including defending champion Victor Dubuisson. As the Race comes to its conclusion the field was drawn from the top 60 in the world rankings and then filled with the Race to Dubai standings. Diluting the field however are four tournament invitations, including the course designer, and three Turkish amateurs.
Due to the limited field event we are back to two picks from each category plus reserve. This is also a no cut event so the usual cut bonuses are not in effect and there are no points for bad play.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Play is suspended due to lightning in the area in Turkey. Blue's pick of Poulter is looking very good at the moment; those new Titleist clubs seem to be doing the business.

Really is that what it is? I assumed it was because he is now playing off the ladies tees!

Grumps I'm on holiday as from this afternoon...golfing in Florida, should be fun! I imagine we will be two picks for Dubai?:-
Cat A: Rory Mcilroy, Henrik Stenson (res: Number 6)
Cat B & C: Pick by numbers 2 and 4 (res: 6)
If we are picking three then add number 8 please. I assume there will not be a fantasy league event the following week, if there is then same numbers please. Cheers all

Blue, you are correct in your assumption of two picks. The top 60 in the standings will play in the final event but I have a feeling the field will be reduced further because players are required to play in 14 ET events prior to the DP World Tour Championship. There might be a few missing out due to these requirements including Justin Rose, Oliver Wilson, and a couple others.

Correct Grumps just got back today. 5 rounds of golf at Southern Dunes and 1 day off to visit the Kennedy Space Centre which was absolutely fascinating.
