Red's lucky numbers came up trumps this week with four picks scoring finish points including runner up Kevin Streelman.  His choices earned him the win over SetupDetermines who also had four picks score points.  Davie and 1GrumpyGolfer tied for third as 1GrumpyGolfer was able to close the gap to Davie through Streelman despite having one less pick score points.  In the basement battle BlueCoverman was lucky enough to squeeze past LadyPutt.

J.J. Henry had a bad day; his round of 76 was the worst and he fell to last place on the leaderboard.  Adam Hadwin on the other hand had a really good day.  His round of 63 was enough to propel him to 10th spot.

Woah, it's getting close.  Just 10 points separates the podium positions as everybody scored points in round 3.  Davie was the biggest mover as he had three of his picks score points including low round scorer Jimmy Walker.  LadyPutt and SetupDetermines both had Walker and one other pick score points.  RedRage had two picks score points, BlueCoverman also had Walker but that was as good as it gets for him, 1GrumpyGolfer stumbled with just one pick scoring points.

With 79 players on Saturday there was a secondary cut and three more picks dropped out.  Stuart Appleby played really well to make the cut with a 64 on Friday but he slumped on Saturday with a 79 which was the worst round of the day.  Jim Herman and Ben Martin also shot 62 to tie Walker's low score.

It's all to play for in round 4; will lucky numbers take the win?

The cut line fell at -2 and everybody waved goodbye to some of their picks; some had more tearful partings than others.  No one managed the full set and Davie was the only Fantasy Leaguer to earn more than one cut bonus however, he doesn't have any players left in category B.  1GrumpyGolfer and RedRage have the most "picks" left with seven as their lucky numbers seem to be coming up trumps at the moment.  SetupDetermines has five picks left and he was the last to earn a bonus.  LadyPutt and BlueCoverman have to content themselves with just four picks for the weekend.

The low round score was 63 and two players made their way into contention by shooting that number.  Spencer Levin posted 63 first and George McNeill followed him shortly afterwards.  1GrumpyGolfer and RedRage were the beneficiaries of McNeill's fine play.  Three players shot 76 as the worst round of the day; Lucas Glover, Ricky Barnes, and Robert Garrigus all shot 76s on the way to missing the cut.

With the first round almost completed there will be nothing that will change who gets what points.  Bob May, in his first start since 2011, showed the rust with the worst round of 79. Stewart Cink and Martin Laird are joint top of the leaderboard following rounds of 64. The Top 5 Low Round scores mark was 66. Out of all those players that shot 66 or lower it was only those who picked Matsuyama who are off the mark. Everyone else is waiting for round 2.

Kevin Na has withdrawn after just 12 holes and that's going to hamper LadyPutt and 1GrumpyGolfer.  There are a couple of other players who are in jeopardy at the moment after rounds of 76; low scores will be needed to make sure they stick around for the weekend.

The second event of the 2015 PGA Tour schedule sees FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel headline the field as one of the two top 20 players in the field.  There are 10 top 50 players gracing the field among those is defending champion, Webb Simpson, and recent winners Ryan Moore and Kevin Na.  Local knowledge may play a factor as these two went to college at UNLV and there are five other Vegas area residents in attendance.  This is a low scoring venue so expect it to be a birdie fest out there.

We are back to our regular three Categories but you still need to pick three, plus reserve, from each one.  The additional cut bonus points are still on offer this time around.  If you get all of your picks through in any category you get a small bonus.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, so cut points will be available; see above.

Everyone please notify others of changes in field before tournament starts and invalid or incomplete picks from participants.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligble for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Davie, Graham DaLaet has withdrawn by the look of it. I didn't see a tee time for him.

Lucky numbers for me, cos I can't be arsed to look it up properly:

2, 5, 8. Reserve 10

Thanks LP, I knew Blue had picked lucky numbers and I'll also need to dig Red's lucky numbers out too. Both of the colours will be posted shortly.

Well LP, some are lucky enough to have "picked" Hideki Matsuyama who looks like he has made the Top 5 Low Round scores. Some are unlucky in the sense that they "picked" Kevin Na who has withdrawn.

The last groups are almost finished and Bob May looks to be posting the worst round as he's +7 through 17. Definitely looks very rusty in his first start since 2011. Stewart Cink and Martin Laird look like they have tied for the low round of the day with 64s.

EDIT:

Play was suspended due to darkness with one group left to finish. Doesn't look like anything will change; Bob May with the worst round of 79. Stewart Cink and Martin Laird low rounds of the day with 64s. Top 5 Low around scores 66. Those who picked Matsuyama are off the mark. Everyone else is waiting for round 2.

It won't be long before we find out.

Looks like they are winning... silent

Is everyone so p*ssed off that they are selecting by numbers ?

Where's the skill in that ?

Should we just call it a day & not bother any more ?

Picking by numbers was introduced to allow peeps to have a pick when they are on holiday, not because "I can't be assed" ?? Shart Fans Shart Fans

Which event for this week?

Think it's the McGladrey's at Sea Island, Georgia on the PGA Tour. Absolutely no idea where the European Tour is.

It's in Perth, Australia of course Grumps...now where else would you expect a European Tour Event to be?   GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2013–2014 - Summer/Autumn Session - Event #11 - Shriners Open 3461234324

Given the timezones, Georgia (USA) sounds much more preferable than Perth! Otherwise picks would have to be in by tomorrow night!

I've got the field and rankings for the McGladrey. Will get the event posted tomorrow morning, maybe lunchtime, that'll leave everyone in the UK the evening and morning to make picks.
