Siems like the spell has been broken: RedRage in Fantasy League defeat shocker! Do not adjust your screens, it's not a typo, RedRage slumped to a third place finish after no one siemed to want to win the BMW Masters. Both Davie and BlueCoverman were clever enough to pick Marcel Siem who won a three way playoff. Those bumper finish points gave them a huge advantage over the rest of the Fantasy Leaguers who could only manage 4th place finshes at best. Davie and BlueCoverman both had two other picks score points but Davie's fared a little better and increased his margin of victory. RedRage also had three picks score points but he didn't have the quality to keep the challenge going. LadyPutt and 1GrumpyGolfer both had two picks score points and SetupDetermines had just one pick score points.
Ross Fisher shot a 67 for low round of the day which got him into the playoff.

RedRage may not get things all his own way as everyone scores points in round 3. Rounds of 67 were enough to score points and four picks had rounds of 67 and lower. Davie has moved into contention after three of his picks had good rounds. LadyPutt had two picks score points and she joins Davie and RedRage at the top of the leaderboard. BlueCoverman also had two picks score points and 1GrumpyGolfer and SetupDetermines each had one pick score points.
Jamie Donaldson did it again in shooting 62 to equal his own course record.

Whether he is picking by numbers or picking his own, arrearage seems to own the Fantasy League at this time. His pick of Nicolas Colsaerts is doing the business. With a round of 64 he pipped Justin Rose by one shot for low round of the day.

The first event in the European Final Series sees the European Tour start off in Shanghai of all places. This is the third year the BMW Masters has been in existence and Gonzalo FDez-Castano is the defending champion. The only other winner, Peter Hanson, didn't qualify for the Final Series or receive an invite like FDez-Castano. Justin Rose is the headline player and the only one within the top 10 of the world rankings but there are also eleven others from the top 50. However the top ranked player in the world, who also happens to be the leader in the Race to Dubai, will not be in the field due to the start of protracted legal problems.
Due to the limited field event we are back to two picks from each category plus reserve. This is also a no cut event so the usual cut bonuses are not in effect and there are no points for bad play.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Unofficial update:
RedRage is off to a flier, again. This time of his own making; maybe the three-peat is on? However LadyPutt is trying to make sure he doesn't have things his own way. Both of them have a pick in the Top 5 Low Round scores. Everyone else is yet to get off of the mark.
Alexander Levy had the round of the day with a 65 and 67 or lower got you into the Top 5 Low Round scores.

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2013–2014 - Summer/Autumn Session - Event #13 - BMW Masters
Happy Birthday Davie!
Logged on to do my picks, then realised that it's Friday! Manic couple of weeks, legal deadline looming on 9th Nov, so madness should ease off for a while after that. No doubt I'd still be bottom of the league anyway!

Round 2 unofficial update.
Whether he is picking by numbers or picking his own, arrearage seems to own the Fantasy League at this time. His pick of Nicolas Colsaerts is doing the business. With a round of 64 he pipped Justin Rose by one shot for low round of the day.
1. RedRage 20 points
2. LadyPutt 10 points
3. Everyone else 0 points

Justin Rose may be regretting his his slow start in round one. If he hadn't of dropped those shots in the first four holes he would be the closest challenger to Alexander Levy.

It got a touch windy apparently, the mechanic managed a 13 on one hole!

It looked more like a case of "I don't want it, you have it! No, I don't want it either - you have it!". Absolutely amazing - if Ross Fisher could score a 67, why not the rest of them? It was just a bit windy

Apologies for the delay in posting the final results. I've been on a roadtrip and reached our destination in Texas this evening. Just the 1700 miles or so, or from Land's End to John O'Groats and back....
I'll be up relatively early tomorrow to post the final results and post the HSBC Champions event for this week. By the time that event starts I'll be close to arriving in Myrtle Beach just another 1100 miles....
