With three top ten finishers and another two picks scoring points a storming final day from LadyPutt saw her sneak past SetupDetermines for another narrow victory in the Fantasy League.  SetupDetermines's picks could only manage two top ten finshes from his full set and he paid the price.  BlueCoverman and 1GrumpyGolfer each had three picks finish in the points but all of BlueCoverman's were in the top ten.  Davie had two picks finish in the top 10 and Mary_S had just one pick score points.  RedRage didn't have much to write home about.

Danny Willett shot 63 for low round of the day and that earned points for BlueCoverman and SetupDetermines.  Adilson Da Silva shot 76 for the worst round of the day and Jin Jeong had a bad weekend finishing last.

The leaderboard stays as it is as only three picks managed to get among the Top 10 Low Round scores.  SetupDetermines extended his lead by having two of those picks.  LadyPutt, BlueCoverman, 1GrumpyGolfer, and Davie all had one of the picks too.  RedRage and Mary_S are not troubling the scorers at this point.

Marco Crespi and Peter Lawrie both shot 62 to tie for low round of the day.  Jin Jeong shot 77 for the worst round of the day.

A tale of two picks by numbers.  The complicated set that SetupDetermines picked brought the full house and all the bonuses that brings including jumping to the top of the leaderboard.  RedRage's numbers just yielded four picks for the weekend.  Davie was the closest to the full set; he lost he popular pick of Miguel Angel Jimenez.  BlueCoverman, LadyPutt, and Mary_S have seven picks left and 1GrumpyGolfer has six evenly spread across all three categories.

Marc Warren had the round of the day with a 63 and amateur Edouard Amacher did go low but it was lower than round one.  His round of 81 was the worst by only two 9 shots today.

LadyPutt makes another fast start to a Fantasy League event by having both of the two picks that scored points in round 1.  Former champion Richie Ramsay shot 62 to tie for the lead with Edoardo Molinari. They have a two shot lead over Gareth Maybin, LadyPutt's pick, and two others at the top of the leaderboard.  Both 1GrumpyGolfer and BlueCoverman picked Ramsay so they are in close attendance.

Scoring has been pretty good amongst the majority of the picks so far but the cut line is already -1.  That means some picks will have to go low tomorrow to make sure that they are around for the weekend.  One player who is unlikely to go low is amateur Edouard Amacher; his round of 88 was the worst by some 9 shots today.

The European Ryder Cup team picks have been made and Stephen Gallacher earned his place last week in Italy.  This week sees the European Tour in the Swiss Alps for the the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre GC.  Last week Gallacher was the headliner and this week we have Ryder Cup team mate Victor Dubuisson as the headliner.  There are only five players from the top 50 in the OWGR on show but Miguel Angel Jimenez is back for his obligatory appearance; his 26th consecutive appearance, and counting.  The defending champion is Thomas Bjorn, who pipped Craig Lee in a play off last year, and there are eleven other former champions in the field including Richie Ramsay, Brett Rumford, Bradley Dredge, Jeff Lucquin, Robert Karlsson, Ricardo Gonzalez, Mattias Gronberg, Sven Struver, Jose Maria Olazabal, and, of course, Jimenez.


We are back to our regular three Categories but you still need to pick three, plus reserve, from each one.  The additional cut bonus points are still on offer this time around.  If you get all of your picks through in any category you get a small bonus.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, so cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

With three top ten finishers and another two picks scoring points a storming final day from LadyPutt saw her sneak past SetupDetermines for another narrow victory in the Fantasy League. SetupDetermines's picks could only manage two top ten finshes from his full set and he paid the price. BlueCoverman and 1GrumpyGolfer each had three picks finish in the points but all of BlueCoverman's were in the top ten. Davie had two picks finish in the top 10 and Mary_S had just one pick score points. RedRage didn't have much to write home about.

Danny Willett shot 63 for low round of the day and that earned points for BlueCoverman and SetupDetermines. Adilson Da Silva shot 76 for the worst round of the day and Jin Jeong had a bad weekend finishing last.
