The low scoring was ridiculous in round 3 and Craig Lee had a 59 watch going on after playing the front nine in 28 and being -9 for 10 holes. Low scoring continued and Oliver Fisher, maligned by BlueCoverman yesterday, shot one of the rounds of the day to not only make the cut on the number but to also give BlueCoverman the perfect six picks and the 20 bonus points that comes with it plus another 10 points for low round. He has a commanding lead at this stage of the tournament as everyone else is bunched together after they could only manage four or five picks through to the weekend. RedRage and SetupDetermines only lost one pick but 1GrumpyGolfer, Davie, and LadyPutt all lost two picks.
Danny Willett matched Oliver Fisher's 64 and that was the lowest score in round two. SetupDetermines and 1GrumpyGolfer also earned bonus points from Fisher. Espen Kofstad had a bad day his round of 84 meant he was in joint last of those that finished both rounds. No one picked Willett or Kofstad so no further bonus points were awarded.

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

I notice Mary is not around to make her picks today...spending a night in the cells after the City v Rovers match last night perhaps?

I thought she decided to retire unbeaten after victory in the last eventBlueCoverman wrote:I notice Mary is not around to make her picks today...spending a night in the cells after the City v Rovers match last night perhaps?
EDIT:
Although I suspect it might be my fault as I was a day late in posting the event details so Mary may have thought she had an extra day....

Casey on a bit of a charge at the moment and Oliver Fisher turns out to be another inspired and jinxed pick by me. Every time I pick him he stuffs up, when I don't pick him he does okay

It's when he's my reserve he plays well lobbying for a full pick. He gets a full pick and then he doesn't bother. Unless something remarkable happens I probably won't pick him for next week so you and he should be okay

In contrast to the Welsh Open the players are having a field day in the Swiss Alps. Over 60 players are under par and nearly 100 are at par or better. At the top of the pile is Anirban Lahari who shot 63. He leads by two from GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks of Miguel Angel Jimenez and Paul Casey. Those two earned points for everyone bar SetupDetermines. Looking on the brightside it's only 10 points. At the other end of the table there are three hardy souls holding up the field. Prom Meesawat, David Gleeson, and Fredrik Svanberg all shot 80. No one picked any of these three so no further points were awarded.

I'll take some of the blame too Mary. I posted the event a day later than usual due to the bank holiday at the beginning of the week so that probably didn't help.Mary_S wrote:Not quite! That's some start by Craig Lee; 6 birdies in a row before his first blemish, a par, on 7. Followed up with birdie on the 8th. Ross Fisher also at -7 but he's played 6 more holes.

The low scoring was ridiculous in round 3 and Craig Lee had a 59 watch going on after playing the front nine in 28 and being -9 for 10 holes. His luck ran out on 12 when he dropped a shot but two more birdies wrapped up a 61 for Lee. His round was the best of the day, funny that, and RedRage earned 20 points. The Top 10 Low Round scores were 67 or lower and only BlueCoverman had a pick make that mark.
The low round was obviously Craig Lee, the worst round was from Thomas Levet who had a 78 and sank towards the bottom of the leaderboard.

Did you see Oliver Fisher's scores Blue? I know this is going to sound weird but I almost wrote in the 3rd round notes, "what odds on Fisher finishing with a 65?" His scores had a nice little pattern going; 77, 64, 76, 65.

Surely the pattern should have been 77, 64, 76, 63 Grumps?

You'll just have to wait and see whether that happens

I've put the kybosh on it.
I've picked the Fishers brothers again.
You have been warned.

I've picked the older brother, the younger one is due to miss a cut!

I think he must be the milkman's kid, he looks nothing like his brother

I have been following him as he is a member at Stirling where I play. He had been on a decent run this last little while, that should be his card all sewn up for next year now... pleased for him. He never put a foot wrong on the final day either. It is hard for players who go really low to follow it up with much. Even very good players seldom better -2 after a great day like he had on Saturday. He lost to a good birdie and gave it a good go himself in the play off, the occasion didn't seem to get him.BlueCoverman wrote:Fair play Craig Lee was a good Cat C shout by RedRage
