Only three GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks held onto to scoring spots and 1GrumpyGolfer had all of them however, his charge was not enough to topple RedRage who led from start to finish at the Scottish Open. RedRage and SetupDetermines each had one pick finish in the points and that was enough for SetupDetermines to get off the bottom rung of the leaderboard. RedRage left it late but recorded his first win in the Spring/Summer session.
Martin Laird had the round of the day with a 68, Matthew Southgate gave his good round back to finish with a disappointing 81. Lee Slattery took last place by one shot from RedRage's pick Craig Lee. No one picked any of these players so no final round bonus points were awarded.
Next week the GolfChatUK Fantasy League stays in Scotland for the start of the Summer/Autumn session and the Open Championship kicks off that session.

Moving day certainly shook things up at the Scottish Open and not necessarily in the right way. Only four picks remain in the scoring positions as we move into the final round. The low round scores covered the spread from 64 to 68 and only two picks made it into the hallowed points scoring zone: Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson. Everyone bar Setup Determines and 1GrumpyGolfer, who had Stenson, had chosen Paul Casey. RedRage extends his lead by another 10 points thanks to another good round by Stenson.
Gareth Maybin matched the round of the week with 64, Lee Slattery had an 80 but no one picked either of these.
It's all to play for in the final round; will anyone catch the runaway leader RedRage?

The very good scoring continued at Castle Stuart as 112 of the 155 players left were under par after two rounds. The scoring was too good for 12 of the GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks. Ernie Els proved to be the surprising pick that missed the cut and that cost two of the three Fantasy Leaguers from having the perfect six. RedRage and BlueCoverman missed due to Ernie and Mary_S lost out to George Murray. Everyone else had at least two picks fall; SetupDetermines was hampered by the withdrawal of Thomas Bjorn who retired midway through his round.
The low round of the day was -8 and Henrik Stenson and Matthew Southgate both had 64s. 1GrumpyGolfer and RedRage were the recipients of 10 bonus points thanks to Stenson. Martin Wiegele had the worse round of the tournament so far with an 81 but it made no difference to Fantasy Leaguers.
Just over half of the remaining picks are in scoring positions at the moment but that could all change on moving day.

Some very good scoring to be had at Castle Stuart as 117 of the 156 players are under par. The round of the day was from John Parry with 64. The Top 5 Low Scores mark was 66 and three GolfChatUK picks had 66s with RedRage picking two of them for an early lead. 1GrumpyGolfer, BlueCoverman, Davie, and SetupDetermines each had one pick; LadyPutt and Mary_S are yet to get off the mark. Of the 28 players over par Moritz Lampert was the poorest with a round of 79.
Expect the cut line to be pretty low unless the weather or course toughens up.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place.
It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2012 –Spring/Summer Session - Event #13
Not such a strong field as I was expecting - I thought it usually attracted more big names as a warm up for the Open - or am I misremembering?
A bit off topic for this thread but not worth asking elsewhere - is Tiger fit for next week? There was some doubt wasn't there?

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2012 –Spring/Summer Session - Event #13
I think the change to a links venue was to try and improve the field; not sure what happened this year.
There have been some rumours floating about that Tiger is suffering from an elbow complaint which was aggravated at the US Open or affected his US Open play. However it's not been publicised too much much in the way in which Tiger operates

Moving day certainly shook things up at the Scottish Open and not necessarily in the right way. Only four picks remain in the
scoring positions as we move into the final round. The low round scores covered the spread from 64 to 68 and only two picks
made it into the hallowed points scoring zone: Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson.
