Apologies for the late posting of the results and the poor formatting, whatever Forumotion did doesn't seem to agree with how I usually post, and it looks absolutely horrible.  This will be an an all in one update, no wonder BlueCoverman was pushing for the results.

Davie correctly picked Justin Rose but unfortunately it was only enough to earn 4th place, sorry!  Phil Mickelson proved to be the big points earner and that was enough for BlueCoverman to hang on for victory; unfortunately I think it was wire to wire but we won't confirm that for him.  Only three picks finished in the scoring places so congratulations to BlueCoverman, Davie, LadyPutt, Mary_S, and SetupDetermines for all managing to get one pick into a scoring position.

67 was the low round score for the week and 86 was the worse.  Robert Karlsson earned quite few GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers points for that horror show.

Four amateurs made the cut and in the race for leading Amateur SetupDetermines remained the best GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguer but his pick Cheng-Tsung Pan finished short of Michael Kim.

The first round was finished on Friday and impatient, plus lucky; BlueCoverman takes the lead over LadyPutt and SetupDetermines.  They all had first round leader Phil Mickelson who had the round of the day 67.  BlueCoverman also had Russell Knox who sneaked into the Top 5 Low Round scores with a 69.  Amateur Grayson Murray had the worse round of the day with an 83.

In the race for leading Amateur SetupDetermines is the best GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguer after round one.  His pick Cheng-Tsung Pan is one shot behind Kevin Phelan.  All other picks are in danger of missing out on the weekend and Mary_S isn’t even in contention after a pick faux pas.

The second major of the year brings us the U.S. Open.  The USGA don’t set out to embarrass golfers but to provide the toughest assessment for them; an assessment that is meant to identify the best golfer. They will need to use all of their shot making skills.  This year at Merion the championship is being held on one of the shortest courses that the pros will play hopefully for the USGA this will put a premium on accuracy and short game rather than embarrassing the USGA.
 
The USGA have had a little bit of fun in grouping the top 3 in the OWGR together so Tiger Woods will be facing his former caddie again.  I’m sure they’ll be the best of friends again.

There are 10 amateurs in the field, designated by (A) after their name, so we will have a separate pick for Low Amateur.  This pick does not have to be one of your Cat C picks unless you so desire.  30 points will be on offer for correctly picking the Low Amateur; if no amateurs make the cut then no points will be awarded.

This is a full field event with cut; cut bonuses will be in effect.

Note: Results may be slow in being posted due to League Administrator travelling home

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Pick 1 amateur, designated by (A) after their name.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.

Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
 
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Sorry, my routine has gone out of the window today.  Normally I would be in work putting out the latest event but I'm working from home today and needed to do some other things such as getting milk and tea.

Anyway as I have LPRPitis to go with tendonitis and gout I'm thinking bugger this event and I'll move onto the next one.  Results will be collated later today and the BMW in Munich will be posted later in the day too; just need to make sure the OWGR have updated their pages

I got so wrapped up in the whole play I'd forgotten who else I picked! Looking back on my choices I doubt I'll feature in the leaderboard looking at the others! Very pleased for Justin but my other picks look like a pack of also rans!

No, Blue, it looked far too much like hard work so I took the executive decision to do as little as possible instead.  What more would you expect from the administration  ?  Again, on the little work as possible I never actually confirmed you were wire to wire but was relatively confident it was true.
