A gripping end to the Wegmans Championship as Inbee Park managed to win at the third extra hole over Catriona Matthew. Park having bogied 18 in regulation play and slipping into a playoff had to play 18 twice more; it was third time lucky as she made birdie to win.
It was just as tight at the top of the leaderboard; SetupDetermines really knows how to pick ‘em as all five of his picks scored finishing points. Unfortunately he lost on countback to 1GrumpyGolfer who had picked Inbee Park whilst SetupDetermines’ best pick was Catriona Matthew. Park was also picked by Davie and RedRage. LadyPutt had all four of her remaining picks score points but mid table was the best she could do. BlueCoverman had three picks score points and Mary_S could only manage two picks; that was enough to spare Blue’s blushes.
The low round of the tournament came in the final round and Suzann Pettersen earned BlueCoverman 20 bonus points for her round of 65. Moriya Jutanugarn had the worse round of the day with 82. Lauren Doughtie finished last but not picked her or Jutanugarn so those points did not get awarded.
The next event is the US Open at Merion and is likely to be published late as I’m travelling tomorrow and I also need to make sure the rankings have been updated first…

A great day of scoring for GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers, sorry Blue, and there were some big moves on the leaderboard; some good and some bad, sorry Blue, again.
SetupDetermines knows how to pick ‘em. He scores low round of the day through Ai Miyazato and also had another of his picks finish in the Low Round Scores. His 60 points total was matched by 1GrumpyGolfer who had three of his six picks in the Low Round Scores. Davie and Mary_S had two picks earn points, LadyPutt and RedRage had one pick. BlueCoverman didn’t have any luck with the ladies in round 3 and also said goodbye to one of his picks as Jeong Jang withdrew. The withdrawal also affected 1GrumpyGolfer, Davie, LadyPutt, and RedRage.
Sue Kim and Lauren Doughtie shared the worse round of the day so far with 81s. No one picked either of these players so the bonus points went unawarded.
The final round is already underway as the LPGA races to get the tournament finished today.

Round 2 finished and 1GrumpyGolfer was the happiest of the bunch. He not only had all six picks through to the final rounds but also got in on the low round scoring courtesy of Inbee Park. Christina Kim finished the wrong side of the cut line by 1 shot scuppering LadyPutt’s and SetupDetermines’ hopes of bonus points. BlueCoverman blotted his copybook with Katie Burnett. The disqualification of Karen Stupples for reasons unknown at this time hampered Davie but he could at least console himself with the bonus points from Inbee Park. Mary_S lost two picks and RedRage lost three but again Inbee Park was a small consolation to RedRage.
Michelle Wie tied the low round of the day with 68 and Jean Bartholomew was all alone with an 87. No picked either of these two players so no further bonus points were awarded.
Rounds 3 and 4 will be played on Sunday hopefully to completion.

Round 1 finally got underway, and finished, on Friday and Chella Choi takes a 1 shot lead over Morgan Pressel. That was enough to give SetupDetermines a 20 point lead over the rest of the GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers. The Low Round Scores were 70 or better and a few picks just missed out with 71s. Veronica Felibert had the worse round of the day with an 84.
Round 2 will hopefully be completed today.

The second major of the LPGA calendar sees a return to Locust Hill Country Club, Pittsford in upstate New York. Last year ShanShan Feng shot a final round 67 to win by two shots. Her -6 winning score was a lot lower than usual. Normally the players are into double digits under par.
This is a full field event with cut; cut bonuses will be in effect.
Note: Results may be slow in being posted due to League Administrator travelling

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Suffice to say that I won't be winning anything this event!
Cat A: Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen (res: Ariya Jutanugarn)
Cat B: Lydia Ko, Anna Nordqvist (res: Azahara Munoz)
Cat C: Katie M. Burnett, Jeong Jang (res: Christina Kim)
Grumps; Is there really any need to include these Mickey Mouse tournaments, I thought that the proper golf was being played in Austria this week?

Some doubt over the participation of Yani Tseng (she has withdrawn from the pro-am today but no decision taken yet about tomorrow). No one picked her (yet) though
Also Ariya Jutanagarn (shoulder injury) is a doubt but still no final decision. Blue has her as a reserve

'kin' cheek.
No leading amateur in this one as I believe there was only one amateur listed in the field when I posted the event. I wouldn't want Blue to miss out on picking a sure fine winner

With a bit of luck for you Grumps this whole event will be wiped out, that will save me having to reveal to my fellow fantasy league players what you told me strictly in confidence yesterday.

You actually picked a much higher ranked player than what should have been available in Cat C. If that's the most egregious error from my rankings debacle then I'm not too worried.

Well I think that you should be, nothing to do with my lowly position of course, but there is a powerful case for this whole event to be expunged from the records due to the gross misinformation that occurred. What do you think Lady Judge?

Of course it has nothing to do with you nearly coming last in essence you had three Cat B players and one Cat C. Your higher ranked Cat C made the cut too. Had it been the other way around then you may have a case, ambulance chaser, but I think you're putting up smokescreens to hide your woeful performance

Surely like golf, if there is a tie, the one who scores the most points on the last day, (squeaky bumtime) is declared the winner.
Or the back nine, or back 3......

That is a very good point Setup. It appears there may be a number of issues connected with this event that more than warrant the urgent attention of the good Lady Judge

Thank you LP. The rules have been the same as when Venice1 was administering the league. I believe Mary_S beat RedRage earlier on in this exact same manner. So, Blue, Setup

And to think I believed you Grumps, when you once said "It's never good to win your own raffle"
