Oh, without the bogey on 16 Matt Kuchar would have almost single handedly won the Memorial and the GolfChatUK Fantasy League event for 1GrumpyGolfer. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be and BlueCoverman wins Jack’s Tournament in Ohio. His three finishers within the points, coupled with low round bonus points, pipped 1GrumpyGolfer by 10 points. LadyPutt and Davie battled it out for third spot and LadyPutt’s three finishers snuck it from Davie’s two finishers. In the basement battle it was honours even as SetupDetermines, Mary_S, and RedRage all finished in joint 5th.

Low round bonus points were earned by Scott Stallings for BlueCoverman and Davie. James Driscoll also would have earned points but no picked him. In the race for the worse round Tom Gillis tied with Charley Hoffmann; both had 81s. Jimmy Walker finished in sole possession of last place. No one picked any of the poor performers.

The GolfChatUK Fantasy League moves to upstate New York and switches to the LPGA Tour for the second women’s major of the year, the Wegmans LPGA Championship.

Round 3 scoring seemed a little tougher and the Low Round Scores mark was only -2. Quite a few GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers had picks achieve that mark, sorry SetupDetermines and Davie, and BlueCoverman and 1GrumpyGolfer got greedy with two picks earning points. The low round score was 68 and Kevin Chappell and J.J. Henry were the low achievers. Jordan Spieth had the worse round with an 82. No one picked any of these players so no additional points were awarded.

BlueCoverman now has sole possession of the lead and Mary_S had crawled into joint bottom spot with SetupDetermines.

After weather delayed second round play eventually finished on Saturday, I think, posting well after the fact but BlueCoverman only cares about the 100 points he gets for getting all six picks through to the final rounds. LadyPutt joins him in that feat and they lead at the halfway stage. SetupDetermines was singing the praises of Bill Haas after his fine play earned him joint low score with Bubba Watson. No one picked Matt Every, and that was a fine thing too, as he slumped to an 84 on the way to missing the cut.

Some mixed bag of scoring from the GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks and the only one among the scoring was Davie. Unfortunately it wasn’t the good kind as he had the player with the worst score. Those 20 points propel him into an early lead. The good news for everyone else is that they are all in second place.

This update is coming from Terminal B of Newark Airport after a mad dash to get to the airport in time thanks to some ridiculous traffic and it could be the last one for a while. Scoring updates will take place once I have some time and internet connection. I thank you for your patience.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Just got a chance to check the leaderboard for the first time - what's going on out there? Tiger +2, Webb Simpson +4 - Sneds 4-over after 5??? Is it carnage out there? Hopefully Justin can get something going out there

Yet again there were weather delays on the PGA Tour and yesterday there were two of them. Play was suspended last night with 42 players, over a third of the field, still to complete round 2. Play will resume at 7:30 local time with round 3 expected to start around 9:30 using a 2 tee start with the players going off in threesomes.

The cut line is currently +3 and we would say goodbye to seven picks at the moment.

The next leaderboard updates from me are likely to take place Sunday or Monday.
