The SetupDetermines show rolled on sweeping all in its path. His pick of Graeme McDowell, after shooting one of the rounds of the day, did the business at the first extra hole. BlueCoverman mounted a valiant charge as four of his picks made the scoring positions but it wasn’t enough to catch SetupDetermines. Davie rallied into a mid-table position after three of his four picks scored points. RedRage and LadyPutt had two finishers score points and Mary_S and 1GrumpyGolfer had to settle for one pick scoring points.

Rounds of the day were 69s and they were shot by the GolfChatUK picks of Graeme McDowell and Luke Donald. Russell Henley also had a 69 but no one picked him so we don’t care. The worse rounds were shot by Ryo Ishikawa, Scott Brown, Jeff Maggert and Casey Wittenberg. They all had +9, 80s and that was enough for Wittenberg to slump to last place. No one picked any of these players either so no one picked up any points there.

The GolfChatUK Fantasy League returns to the European Tour as it heads to South Korea of all places in Europe.

Round 3 was supposed to be moving day but no one told the GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers. Only 1 pick made the scoring positions and SetupDetermines, LadyPutt and Davie were the beneficiaries. The secondary cut saw us wave goodbye to Jason Kokrak and Ricky Barnes. The low round score was 65 and that was set by Webb Simpson. The worse rounds were +9, 80s and D H Lee and William McGirt had those on the way to an early exit.

70 pros are playing on Sunday, 7 picks are in the finish points and 5 are in joint last place. Who knows whether any of the picks will stay in those positions?

Well the weather really helped out a lot of GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers. The climax to round 2 was delayed until Saturday morning and some of those who had to finish moved the cut line to +2. That brought 91 players into the weekend mix and allowed four Fantasy Leaguers to make it a perfect six. 1GrumpyGolfer, BlueCoverman, RedRage, and SetupDetermines all were the main beneficiaries of the increased cut line. Mary_S missed out by one pick; Jamie Donaldson, who also hurt the chances for Davie and LadyPutt.

Graeme McDowell and Matt Jones had the rounds of the day with 67s. That gave SetupDetermines the bonus points and he was able to sneak into second place on his own. John Daly and Matt, why did I, Bova both had the worse rounds with 81s. Neither of these two made anyone’s full side so those bonus points were unaccounted for.

The high number of players making the cut will most likely mean an MDF so the +2s will need to improve to make Sunday’s play.

A good day at the office for 1GrumpyGolfer as he had the only two picks to make the scoring positions. He had Brian Davis shoot the low round of the day, a -6, 65, and he had Jason Day make the Top 5 Low Scores. Everyone else can console themselves with joint second position. The worse round of the day was accumulated by Tag Ridings; he had an 85 which was 6 shots worse than anyone else. No one picked him so those points were left on the unaccounted for.

The weather is supposed to deteriorate over the course of the second round so those early starters may have the chance to improve their position.

The first Spring/Summer event of the GolfChatUK Fantasy League takes us to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The venue is Harbour Town Golf Links with its iconic red and white lighthouse on the Calibogue Sound. Harbour Town is a shorter than usual par 71 layout which unusually for tour venues is playable by amateurs. It has tight fairways and small greens and places a premium on accuracy. Although it’s a short course it still has teeth only 26 players have ever managed to break 70 in all four rounds.
Carl Pettersson is the defending champion and he will hope for a better performance than last week at Augusta. There are also a number of prior champions in the field including Brandt Snedeker, Boo Weekly and Jim Furyk.

This is a full field event with cut; cut bonuses are in effect.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

The SetupDetermines show rolled on sweeping all in its path. His pick of Graeme McDowell, after shooting one of the rounds of the day, did the business at the first extra hole. BlueCoverman mounted a valiant charge as four of his picks made the scoring positions but it wasn’t enough to catch SetupDetermines. Davie rallied into a mid-table position after three of his four picks scored points. RedRage and LadyPutt had two finishers score points and Mary_S and 1GrumpyGolfer had to settle for one pick scoring points.

Rounds of the day were 69s and they were shot by the GolfChatUK picks of Graeme McDowell and Luke Donald. Russell Henley also had a 69 but no one picked him so we don’t care. The worse rounds were shot by Ryo Ishikawa, Scott Brown, Jeff Maggert and Casey Wittenberg. They all had +9, 80s and that was enough for Wittenberg to slump to last place. No one picked any of these players either so no one picked up any points there.

The GolfChatUK Fantasy League returns to the European Tour as it heads to South Korea of all places in Europe.
