The final round at the Tampa Bay Championship did bring a final day charge. Step forward Boo Weekly championed by Davie and RedRage. Weekly’s round of 63 was the round of the week and meant Weekly had the clubhouse lead at -8. He was tied with Kevin Streelman and for a time Justin Leonard. Streelman birdied the par 3 13th to take the lead and then birdied the par 3 17th to take a two shot lead to the 18th tee while Weekly anxiously waited on the practice ground whilst wishing he could have gone fishing instead.
Weekly’s second place finish helped propel RedRage and Davie up the leaderboard. RedRage had two other picks finish in the scoring positions and he jumped into third place. Davie also had Luke Donald, who finished in the top 5, and that took him into a share of first place with LadyPutt. In a victory for picking by numbers her “picks” of Kevin Streelman and Webb Simpson finished in scoring positions and the win for Streelman meant she pips Davie on countback. Everyone else had Sergio Garcia finish in a scoring position except for Doc. His “picks” included George Coetzee instead.
Charley Hoffman and Josh Teater were among the worse rounds of the day again. They were joined by Jesper Parnevik and John Rollins. The score was 77, again. Again, no one picked any of them so those points went unclaimed. Josh Teater’s poor weekend meant he finished in last position and those points went unclaimed too.
Next week sees the GolfChatUK Fantasy League remain in Florida for a trip to Orlando for the Arnold Palmer invitational.

The third round saw a mixed bag of scoring and only three GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers scored points. This means it’s still a very tightly packed leaderboard. The first two spots are held by pick by numbers LadyPutt and Doc; Davie doing it the old fashioned way is hanging onto their coat tails. LadyPutt sprang to the top of the leaderboard courtesy of Kevin Streelman’s 65. That was the best round of the day and it matches the lowest rounds of the week. Davie and Doc each had a pick finish in the top 10 low scores thanks to Luke Donald, who Davie was maligning on another thread , and George Coetzee. The worse rounds of the day were 77s from Charley Hoffman, Josh Teater and Troy Matteson; however no one picked them so those points went unclaimed.
Only 6 picks are in scoring positions and 3 are on the cusp so it could be a close finish tomorrow. Will anyone make a charge?

The second round saw GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers perform pretty well as a group. Two thirds of their picks made it through to the weekend and the worst performers managed four picks through. No one managed the full set; the closest anyone came to the full set was two shots. This all means that it’s very tight at the top of the leaderboard but 1GrumpyGolfer has sneaked ahead of the pack courtesy of the low round of the day bonus points from Erik Compton.
Compton matched Stefani’s 65 and moved well above the cut line. John Daly was car crash TV again; he had the worse round of the day with an 81 which included a 10.
The third round brings the opportunity for more bonus points; will anyone be able to break away from the pack?

Shawn Stefani was the snake charmer who tamed the course with a round of 65 and a two shot lead. Tim Petrovic was snake bitten and he slumped to a round of 82 and last place. The Top 5 low Round scores mark fell at -3 and was just missed by some picks. No bonus points awarded in round 1.
The cut line stands at +1 so there’s still a chance for some.

The Florida swing moves to the west coast and to the Copperhead course at the Innisbrook Resort. This is a par 71 layout set amongst tree lined fairways and rolling terrain. We’ve visited the Bear Trap at PGA National and now we’re set to enter the Snake Pit; one of the toughest closing stretches on the PGA Tour.
Luke Donald returns to defend his crown that he won in a playoff last year. The playoff was a double first; the first in the tournament’s history and the first PGA Tour playoff victory for Donald after two prior defeats.
This is a full field event with cut; cut bonuses will be in effect.

However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Grumps - I was going to do my own picks as you have posted in good time but I quite like the look of my random ones so I'll leave it at that.

That's a much higher position than I was expecting!
Hardly surprising that nobody has picked up any points for low round of the day. None of the top 5 had odds of better than 100 to 1 before the start of play, what chance have we got!

A high scoring first round saw SetupDetermines handicapped and everyone keep up with him. Nothing of note happened for the GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers.

Yes, Blue. Something like that. Unfortunately we had some snow this weekend which does seem to be slowly disappearing but more is expected tomorrow. The course is supposed to open on Good Friday and one of mates has procured us a 7:30 tee time. Not sure how he has managed that as the golf course manager told me last night that the first tee time is at 8:00!

In Spain at present. Can the run continue ? I think not.
What happened to my points for Camilo in the last round ? Grumps ?
Looks like I should have stuck with my reserves, instead of my picks.
So close & yet so far away.

He was playing with me at Dundonald. He had a nightmare finishing stone last.
