As the players who keep winning advance through the tournament, the points will be awarded according to the Scoring Table below. There are 50 points on offer for those selecting the overall winner. There are also 20 bonus points available for those having the most wins per round through to and including the quarterfinals.

Well this is getting interesting. BlueCoverman didn't make it a perfect bonus record and that may have opened the door for 1GrumpyGolfer, RedRage or LadyPutt. They have all four of the semifinalists guaranteeing them a shedload of points. LadyPutt and 1GrumpyGolfer are still in line for the overall win bonus as Ian Poulter is still alive and that could ultimately swing it in their favour.

All bar SetupDetermines have a guaranteed finalist and this will allow for some jockeying in the final positions.

3 of my picks in the semi-final. I discounted Hunter Mahan because Steve once beat him as a junior - women's logic eh!

Here's hoping that Poults can do the business.

Well the sponsors will be happy, there's an all American final. The last overall pick for the win is eliminated as Ian Poulter just wasn't on top of his game today. Everyone has a shot to win the tournament as everyone has Kuchar but if Mahan wins the points will go in different directions. However the title will all hinge on the outcome of the Day/Poulter consolation match. Will BlueCoverman be a wire to wire winner or will he be pipped to the title by 1GrumpyGolfer and ultimately finish 4th?

Darn - I had high hopes for Poulter.

The consolation match proved the undoing of BlueCoverman as Ian Poulter lost his way on the final day of the WGC Matchplay. Jason Day’s 1up victory allowed 1GrumpyGolfer, LadyPutt and RedRage to all sneak past BlueCoverman in what would have been a 1 point wire to wire victory.

There was no other movement in the table as everyone had Matt Kuchar. Doc did close on SetupDetermines but ultimately remained stuck at the bottom by a 1 point margin.

The Fantasy League returns to South Africa for the next event and Soren Hansen does not appear to have entered.

Unlucky Doc, just managed to hold you off in the slow sprint to be LAST.

Just 3 points in it Gumps! That was really exciting - much better than the strokeplay competitions. Pity Poulter ran out of steam at the end. The final was rather boring and I went to bed before it finished.

If Poulter had won the consolation match there would have been less than 5 points separating the top 3 places; Blue would have won by a point.

Now let me see if I have got this right. I lead by a country mile from the very first round all through the event and am still leading comfortably after the semi-finals. I have both the finalists and in addition the fourth place finisher.

I open up the thread just now to see that I have been replaced at the top spot by none other than our illustrious league administrator. Furthermore, I am not even runner-up having plummeted to mid-table obscurity and mediocrity.

Not my fault Guv, you should have a word with Poulter. If he had won the consolation match the extra 20 points for a third place finish would have given you a one point victory.

Why would I want to have a word with Poulter when it is much more fun to insinuate that you contrived the points for your own benefit?

Well the other one would be G-Fat, if he hadn't have lost to Day then none of it would have happened.

Anyway you're in good company, last year oldparwin had 24 first round winners and finished in midtable obscurity.

Ok I know when I'm beat and in that case I will just say well done Grumps on yet another win!
