RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Overnight rains saw the course take a beating and the par 4 6th was shortened to a par 3 for the day. There was plenty of action on moving day with raycastleunited and Venice1 managing to have the best of rounds and the worst of rounds scoring bonus points at both ends of the spectrum. Seven other players scored bonus points and RedRage had two in the hallowed hall of fame of a Top 10 score. Only two failed to pick up any of the bonus points on offer.
Mary_S still holds onto first place by a mere fraction. She’s been helped by the withdrawal of Chris Wood and that’s affected five other players. I’m sure we’ll see Mary_S offering a rubdown with the sporting life to Chris now that he’s withdrawn. It’s shaping up to be a battle on the last day; will Mary_S hold on to fight off the many challengers to her throne?
________________________________________________________________________
Round 2 saw Mary_S spring to the front of the pack opening up a 5 point lead over the chasing bunch. Her joy tempered by the disappointment that is Henrik Stenson. He was well on track to make the cut and lead Mary_S to a perfect six until an 8 on the par 4 4th derailed his round after 13 holes. He managed another birdie but couldn’t find another to miss the cut by one shot.
No one else came close to making it a perfect six and as expected bonus points for low or worst round were left on the table. Nobody picked Julien Quesne who catapulted himself up into the halfway lead with a fine -6 65. Amateur Michael Thannhaeuser struggled to the worst round of the day with a +13 84. Sven Struver may have dropped shots on his last two holes but he hung on to avoid the ignominy of worst round two days running.
What will moving day bring?
________________________________________________________________________
Those who chose David Howell or Rhys Davies made hay in the Swiss sunshine yesterday, it’s almost easier to list those who didn’t pick a Round 1 Top 5 competitor. Although there were others who fell one agonising shot short of making the Top 5 or worst round. Plenty of points still to play for and those without bonus points will be hoping all their players make the cut to earn what could be a crucial 20 bonus points.
1. 8 pros made the Round 1 Top 5 list and two were chosen by fantasy league players
2. Nobody selected Gregory Bourdy who shot the best round of the day
3. Nobody selected Sven Struver who shot the worse round of the day

After claiming, on this thread, that he's no good at this game a storming surge to the finish line by Faldono1Fan saw him pip Davie and Mary_S on countback. His pick of Romain Wattel finished in a tie for second earning him a crucial 40 points and the Omerga European Masters crown. Mary_S took her eye off the ball, forgetting to rally her troops by helping Chris Wood “recover” from his back injury. Two top 6 finishes by Davie’s picks allowed him to consolidate his second place.
Doc was the other big mover of the day; his pick of Branden Grace earned him worst round bonus points and a last place finish. Paul Lawrie rounded off his points earnings and sealed 4th place.
Nobody picked Lee Slattery whose final round 64 earned him a 14th place finish. Winner, Richie Ramsay, a popular pick in prior tournaments, also didn’t feel the love of the fantasy leaguers. Markus Brier tied for worst round and last place but no one picked him either.
