RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2012 - Summer Session - Event #26 _ Alstom Open de France
A - Rose, Poulter (Frankie Molinari
B - Goosen, Manassero (Willett)
C - Pavan, Levet (Finch)
I'm sure it will not make a blind bit of difference, but I do prefer to work with some names that I actually recognise.

Ok so here goes
Westwood and Rose (if these don't perform lots of people are screwed)
Gregories Havret and Bourdy (think Havret should be okay as he's LP's reserve)
Gagli and Price (ran out of inspiration)

So every competitor is in the Top 3 after round 1 but only two managed to put points on the board. Take a bow Davie and oldshanker. Both had the inspired pick of Matteo Manassero who managed to knock it round in 66 shots and worthy of a Round 1 Top 5.
What else happened, not a lot:
1. 8 pro's made the Round 1 Top 5 list and only one was picked by fantasy league players
2. Nobody selected Christian Nilsson who shot the best round of the day
3. Nobody selected Paul Broadhurst who shot the worse round of the day
Round 2 will see more points being scored but Hogie will miss out on the cut bonus by the unfortunate act of one of his Cat A picks not playing and his reserve also missing out ________________________________________________________________________
1st Round Low Score (10 Points):
Christian Nilsson -6

1st Round Worse Score (10 Points):
Paul Broadhurst +11

1st Round Top 5 (10 Points):

Grumpy,
I don't see my name T3 on the leaderboard. You've forgotten my picks, but I will forgive you as it's your first turn. Don't let it happen again or I'll set Blue on you. What's that? Oh, he's already at it?
For your benefit, my picks by numbers were:
Cat A:
Lee WESTWOOD
Martin KAYMER
Cat B:
Branden GRACE
Rafa CABRERA-BELLO
Cat C:
Andrea PAVAN
Richard STERNE
Cheers!

That's why these are unofficial results Ray, anyway, either you need to pick someone scarier as I ain't scared of the big jessie or it's the couple of pints after work that are talking.
Was this one of your Mickey Mouse pick comps Ray? I'd have thought you could have picked some better than that well after the fact.
Adjusted leaderboards to come tomorrow.

Round 2 saw Davie keep his 10 point lead intact over the field but boyhyde is now hot on his heels leading the chasing pack. Both wise sages managed to get all six picks through to the final rounds.
Four other intrepid competitors came up one short of the perfect pick. Jamie Donaldson was responsible for Venice1's and RedRage's failures, Victor Dubuisson accounted for LadyPutt and Andrea Pavan took down raycastleunited.
Nobody was lucky or unlucky enough to have players that shot the best or worst round of the day. Much applause to Alex Noren for his round of 67, big raspberries to Peter Hedblom for chopping it round in 85.
What will moving day bring?

Moving Day saw oldshanker get it done. Having slipped off the pace in round 2 and having given his team a stern talking to he saw them get their act together. Three of his picks made the Top 10 list including Retief Goosen who took those words to heart to tie for low round of the day.
Justin Rose and Ian Poulter got into the spirit and were key picks that gave pretty much everybody else their points for round 3
Lucky losers were Danny Willett and Ricardo Santos who no one had the misfortune to pick.

I have results prepared for the this event, the US Womens Open, USPGA and the Johnnie Walker at Gleneagles. I didn't want to go overboard and blitz each thread with updated leaderboards at once so I'm posting piecemeal. I aim to have everything updated by the end of the weekend and once they're up I'm sure you'll want to continue.

Oldshanker’s moving day specials held onto their good finishes to secure top spot from a charging Venice1. Venice1 benefited from the pep talk Mary_S gave to Francesco Molinari, he woke up to shoot a final round 64. Scoring low round bonus points for three players and propelling them up the leaderboard. Venice1’s sterling effort missed out by a measly 5 points in the end, his picks finished 2nd and 3rd. Boyhyde held onto Venice1’s slipstream to ensure a tie for 2nd place overall. Davie slipped out of the reckoning with expectation weighing heavily upon their shoulders only two of his picks managed to break par on the final day. Mary_S ended in mid-table obscurity after Frankie’s charge. Oldparwin picked Marcel Siem, tournament winner, but only as a reserve. How he must be ruing that decision after leaving mucho points on the table.
Frankie delivered the bonus points for low final round and Carlos Del Moral finished with a final round 80. Martin Kaymer finished last earning raycastleunited the bonus points for the ignominy.

I think we see now why OPW doesn't want to play anymore
