What a way to finish. Not only the Race to Dubai but the final GolfChatUK Fantasy League event of the 2012-2013 season. A 239 yard 3 wood from Henrik Stenson left a tap in eagle putt on the 72nd hole. He finished with a 64 and a 6 shot win in the DP World Tour Championship which also wrapped up the Race to Dubai title for him. It's been an impressive six months from Henrik Stenson as he becomes the first player to win both the FedEx Cup and the Race to Dubai in the same season.
In a leave it to the last minute moment SetupDetermines wins the final event of the Summer/Autumn session picking up his first win in that session. His picks of Stenson and Ian Poulter finished first and second, he also two other picks finish in the points. RedRage also had four picks including Stenson score points. He was the closest chaser to SetupDetermines and another solid performance wraps up the Summer/Autumn session. LadyPutt and 1GrumpyGolfer had two picks score the next highest haul of finish points. Davie and BlueCoverman had three picks score points but they weren't in the higher placings.
Stenson's round was his second 64 and the lowest of the day again. RedRage and SetupDetermines were the primary beneficiaries. Garth Mulroy had a 78 which meant he also finished with the last place points; no one picked him so those points were left alone.

Round 3 of the DP World Tour Championship saw points being handed out willy-nilly and SetupDetermines was the biggest recipient. He had all three of the GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks that finished in the Top 10 Low Round Scores. He now has sole possesion of the lead as he overtook RedRage who only had one pick score points. 1GrumpyGolfer had two of the three whilst BlueCoverman and LadyPutt both had one pick score points. Davie scored points for the wrong reasons as his pick of Peter Uihlein shot a 76 to take the worse round dishonours. Victor Dubuisson continued his fine form and shot a 64 to tie low round of the tournament.
With four picks in the top 10 and another five in the scoring positions there's a lot of points up for grabs in the final round.

Everyone picked a low round scorer in round two but it's as you were on the leaderboard. Henrik Stenson continued his fine run of form and shot 64 to take a 1 shot lead at the top and that kept RedRage and SetupDetermines almost neck and neck. Cat C chopper Ross Fisher worked out which end to hold and also shot 64 allowing 1GrumpyGolfer, BlueCoverman, Davie, and LadyPutt to get off of the mark. Tommy Fleetwood had the worse round with a 76 which in comparison to other tournaments isn't that bad really.

56 players started and finished the first round of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. We had a mixed bag of scoring, including finding some Cat C choppers, where no GolfChatUK Fantasy League pick was the best or worst player on the day. Alejandro Canizares went out early and posted a 66 which a couple came near but no one equalled. Felipe Aguilar also went out relatively early and posted a 79 which a couple came near but again no one equalled. The Top 5 Low Round Scores mark was 68 and two picks equalled that score; Henrik Stenson and Rafa Cabrera Bello. No surprise then that the runaway leader of the GolfChatUK Fantasy League, RedRage, picked both of them. While RedRage is alone at the top, SetupDetermines is the next closest having also picked Stenson. Everyone else is playing catch up and hoping for better things in round 2.

The final event of the 2012-2013 GolfChatUK Fantasy League season is here and it's also the last event in the European Tour Final series. 56 of the top 60 players in the Race to Dubai standings have assembled at the Jumeirah Golf Estates to do battle over the Earth course to see who will be the top dog on the European Tour. As mentioned by LadyPutt Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzel, Ernie Els were all ineligible for the finale after playing just one event in the series. Alex Noren would have been eligible but a wrist injury caused him to retire from the Turkish Open and this ongoing injury is expected to keep him out for sometime.
Henrik Stenson holds the lead at the moment as he looks to complete an unprecedented double by winning the Race to Dubai to go with the FedEx Cup. Previous winners of the Race to Dubai (Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Luke Donald, and Rory McIlroy) have all been World Number 1 at some point and the most recent winners have won the PGA Tour and European Tour money list in the same season; Donald and McIlroy.
This is a limited field event with no cut; cut bonuses will not be in effect.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League - Summer/Autumn Session - Event #16 Dubai
Tee times are published on the ET website but not the entry list - but the tee times are listed in order of qualification with Luke Donald and David Horsey going out first (last two qualifiers). There are only 56 entries because Sergio, Charl and Ernie did not play in the required two out of the three last tournaments (I'm not sure who the fourth missing one is!). Pity they couldn't take the next four on the list in that case to have a full field.

As this is the Race to Dubai, should there not be 5000 bonus points available to the winner ?

All pins are rated between 1-4, easy to hard, and typically a total rating would be around 45. Just heard on the tv coverage that the pin rating for today is 52. No wonder there's been some high scores from the Cat C choppers!

Re: GolfChatUK Fantasy League - Summer/Autumn Session - Event #16 Dubai
Well done SetUp - a good haul of points there!
Of course, I would have chosen Stenson, if I'd remembered to get my picks in last week.
