Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey came from 7 shots back with a course record final round 60 to win the McGladrey Classic. There was a similar a comeback from Davie to snatch victory in event 36 of the GCUK Fantasy League schedule. Davie had three picks finish in the top 10. Local hero Davis Love III who was tied for the third round lead stumbled to an over par final round and fell to a tie for 4th place. Like Davis, BlueCoverman slumped down the leaderboard, but those who follow The Cho-Ker know this isn't an unusual occurence.
The absent raycastleunited finished in solo second after having two picks finish in the top 4 places. LadyPutt had three picks finish in the top 20, wrapping up with a top 5, 10 and 20 finish to secure third place. Faldono1fan, SetupDetermines and Mary_S all had two picks finish in the top 20 to score points. RedRage and 1GrumpyGolfer could only manage one top 10 finisher.
No one picked Tommy Gainey who shot a course record -10, 60 in the final round. No one picked Cameron Beckman who would have earned the worst round and last place double. Beckman was the unlucky recipient of all the shots that Gainey picked up, he finished with a +10, 80. He secured the dishonours of last place and all those bonus points went begging.

An MDF cut after round three at the McGladrey Classic sees 4 GCUK Fantasy Leaguers say goodbye to another pick. BlueCoverman, LadyPutt, SetupDetermines and faldono1fan saw Richard H Lee and Jonas Blixt fall by the wayside.
In other news it was moving day, for some the moves were good, for others not so good. Faldono1fan and Davie made the biggest moves with two picks inside the Top 10 low scores in round three. The rest had one pick inside that Top 10 but two GCUK Fantasy Leaguers didn't score points; RedRage and 1GrumpyGolfer hang their heads in shame and await the pot shots from BlueCoverman.
No one chose Ben Crane to come storming into contention with a round equaling the course record with an -8, 62. The worse round dishonours were shared equally by Stephen Bowditch, Chris DiMarco, J J Killeen and Alex Cejka. They all shot +5 over and suffered the indignity of an MDF. Luckily for GCUK Fantasy Leaguers, no one picked any of them either.

Great day of scoring for the pros and a poor day of scoring for the GCUK Fantasy Leaguers. Only BlueCoverman scored points after the first day's play at the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Georgia.
BlueCoverman had the soundness of mind to move away from one of LadyPutt's picks and choose Bud Cauley. He shot an -8, 62 to tie for the lead after the first round. Mary_S is feeling just like LadyPutt does as one of her reserves, Marco Dawson, finished in a tie for first place with Bud Cauley. Many had picks on the cusp of the Round 1 Top 5 but only five players made the Top 5.
No one picked Patrick Sheehan either he shot 77 for worse round of the day and is in need of a miracle to make the cut.

Lucky BlueCoverman earned his first victory at the Portugal Open last week; he puts that down to meticulous research and planning or as it’s otherwise known: stalking. Can he make it back to back wins this week at the McGladrey Classic.
This is the third installment of the McGladrey Classic at Sea Island, GA. This par 70 course is set up for low scoring as -17 and -15 have won the previous two events. Ben Crane is back in the field as defending champion and first winner, Heath Slocum is also in the field.
Crane won in a playoff last year over Davie’s favourite: Webb Simpson and that defeat ultimately helped Luke Donald win the Tour money list so that’s one reason to like Ben Crane. One reason not to like him is for his penchant for slow and deliberate play.

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:
Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field. By decree of GCUK Fantasy League Administrator,1GrumpyGolfer BlueCoverman is not allowed to change his picks
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. NIce one 1GG - must admit I'm totally amazed at how high in the rankings Jason Day is! Hardly heard him mentioned for ages!
Not sure there are enough good names in this week to pick a porn star team though

Re: GolfChatUk Fantasy League 2012 - Autumn Session - Event #36
He had a high finish at the first fall series event which has probably boosted his full value points numbers. Plus it's wind down time at the moment so lots of the top players aren't playing and most of the movement in the OWGR is due to old points being dropped off.

Field Updates:
Withdrawals:
Robert Garrigus - LadyPutt pick
John Mallinger
Scott Verplank
Chris Couch - Davie pick
Hank Kuehne
However LadyPutt has picked Jason Day as a reserve whilst a lot of others have picked him as a full pick. This could make things interesting now he's been promoted to a proper pick and not a reserve based on LP's recent reserve performances.

Happy to let my reserve come in for the missing pick in my selection - can I add Scott Brown as my new reserve just in case there are any more withdrawals please?
Re: GolfChatUk Fantasy League 2012 - Autumn Session - Event #36
Oh Christ Jason Day is now in LadyPutts team? That means he probably won't even make the cut! Can I replace him with Bud Cauley please Grumps?

No, you picked him, you keep him
Had to check Bud Cauley was Cat A. Didn't think he would be ranked that highly.

Good weather has been forecast; 70s and 80s will light breezes. Could be some good scoring. Grumps's cut line prediction players under par will enjoy the weekend.

O'Hern is obviously the junior partner as he only managed level par while the other rainmakers got to -3.

Re: GolfChatUk Fantasy League 2012 - Autumn Session - Event #36
Greg Owen has put together a nice round, currently in the lead after his -6, 64. He needs a good finish to secure all the good playing privileges next year. Top 70 on the money list make the invitationals such as Memorial and Bay Hill and Top 30 gets you into a scruffy place down in Georgia.
John Daly knocked it round in level par but will need a better round tomorrow to ensure weekend play and positive movement on the money list. He's outside of the top 125 at the moment and not looking good for next year.
