RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

I see two of my reserve picks are doing well again - will I ever learn?

Can I play knost in reserve of DA?

Meisce - decisions like that are down first to venice and then our very own "hanging judge" LadyPutt, but as far as I can see, Knost had just teed off at the time you put in your plea so it's probably a fair request. Maybe a private appointment in the chambers of LP will be needed though

There are two GCUK Fantasy Leaguers tied for the lead after Round 1 of the Players and they happen to be the only two players with points so far: oldshanker and 1GrumpyGolfer. They were smart enough to choose Ian Poulter who was tied for low round of the day with Martin Laird. The other 13 fantasy competitors stand 40 points in the hole but with this being a Weighted 2 event, securing points is a mere formality.

Nobody chose Laird for low round and Jerry Kelly who had the worse round of the day was left off everyone's card. On the course there were a number of withdrawals or non-starters which affected a few of the Leaguers. But the major cause for the lack of scoring was the fact that most have stacked their picks with the 'elite' of both Tours and that strategy is failing them miserably. At least they have company.

Having just checked the score after my last post, definitely my bad!

Sorry - I've been offline for a while. As Meisce has said he's not worried about not having a reserve (if I read his comment right), we'll let things stand. Pity DA Points didn't decide to pull out a bit sooner than at the very last minute - does he know the problems he's caused us???

Maybe you can issue him a subpoena and have him explain his reason for disturbing our League. Also issue one to Poults for not letting us know (except for oldshanker and 1GG) when he's going to shoot lights out.

The only GCUK competitor to get a perfect 6 for 6 in the Cut category is boyhyde who now has the halfway lead at the Players Championship. There were eight competitors who had 5 of 6 make the cut but that wasn't good enough for the bonus points, thus allowing boyhyde to have a thin lead over first round leaders oldshanker and 1GrumpyGolfer.

Nobody chose Zach Johnson or John Huh who shot the low round for the day and nobody chose Andres Romero who had the worse round of the day. One player was disqualified, D.J. Trahan, but did not affect the Fantasy Leaguers. The way the actual leaderboard is constantly changing so far will give little comfort to the virtual leaderboard posters as the weekend gets into the higher gears.

The drama is unfolding in the GCUK Fantasy League's Players Championship event as raycastleunited, the winner of the previous 2 events, has surged to within striking distance of 3rd Round leader boyhyde while oldshanker is barely clinging on to second place. Rickie Fowler was the lucky choice for raycastleunited by shooting the low score for the round as nobody else chose the Boy In The Orange Jumpsuit.

Only six other competitors picked up points for the Round 3 Top 10 category which is usually a windfall of points for the Leaguers. Many of the elite players chosen were a no-show once again which translated into many no-points for all. Proving that it takes a bit of a risk to get a reward in this fantasy golf world.
