Eight out of the thirteen standing GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks scored points in the Top 20 finish placings, three of them were in the top 5 but for the first time in five events the winner was not chosen.  Davie had two picks score points and they both finished in the top five.  He comfortably took the win over LadyPutt who also had good finish scores from all three of her remaining picks.  1GrumpyGolfer also had all three of his picks score points.  RedRage and BlueCoverman both had two picks score points and Mary_S and SetupDetermines had one pick score points.

David Toms had one of the rounds of the tournament with a 62.  That scored low round bonus points for LadyPutt and BlueCoverman.  Matt Jones also had a 62 but no one picked him.  Scott Gardiner had the worse round, which was not so bad really, with a 73.  Kevin Chappell finished last.  No one picked either of Gardiner or Chappell so no points were awarded there.

The next event sees the Fantasy League switch to the European Tour for the Johnnie Walker Championship.

Charles Howell-III was disqualified for using a "broken" driver after a small piece fell off during his warmup on the range, the disqualification has affected 1GrumpyGolfer reducing his active picks to three.

Not a great day for GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers as no one managed to get more than four picks through to the weekend.  Davie, Mary_S, 1GrumpyGolfer, BlueCoverman, and RedRage all had four picks through.  LadyPutt and SetupDetermines only had three picks.  Davie and Mary_S have a five point lead over LadyPutt and SetupDetermines.  1GrumpyGolfer, BlueCoverman, and RedRage are a further five points behind.

This is the final chance for those looking to make the top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings.  Ross Fisher seems to be doing himself the world of good by shooting one of the lowest rounds of the day.  He was joined at -6 by Chris Stroud.  The Top 5 Low Scores ended up with 10 players as 8 others, including Sergio Garcia and Jordan Spieth, shot 65s.  This earned points for Davie and LadyPutt who both picked Spieth and Mary_S and SetupDetermines who both picked Garcia.  No other GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguer scored points.  Joey Snyder-III had the worse round of the day with an 80.

The final event before the FedEx Cup playoffs will see a number of players trying to reach the top 125 or better.  The field at the Wyndham Championship is headlined by Brandt Snedeker and Bill Haas as recent FedEx Cup Champions.  Defending champion Sergio Garcia will be back to defend his title which was won in a Monday finish.  

Sedgefield Country Club is a par 70 Donald Ross design.  It has small, undulating greens and measures 7,130 yards.  The course record is 61 and is shared by four players including former champions Carl Petterson and Arjun Atwal both of whom are in the field.

This is a full field event with cut; cut bonuses will be in effect.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Pick 1 Club Professional indicated by (CP) after name

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

I see that Charles Howell was disqualified, after his TaylorMade driver was deemed to be non-conforming. Apparently the toe-cap fell off while he was hitting balls before playing his 2nd round, so there was a small hole in the bottom of the club.

I heard that, down to three picks now.

Eight out of the thirteen standing GolfChatUK Fantasy League picks scored points in the Top 20 finish placings, three of them were in the top 5 but for the first time in five events the winner was not chosen. Davie had two picks score points and they both finished in the top five. He comfortably took the win over LadyPutt who also had good finish scores from all three of her remaining picks. 1GrumpyGolfer also had all three of his picks score points. RedRage and BlueCoverman both had two picks score points and Mary_S and SetupDetermines had one pick score points.

David Toms had one of the rounds of the tournament with a 62. That scored low round bonus points for LadyPutt and BlueCoverman. Matt Jones also had a 62 but no one picked him. Scott Gardiner had the worse round, which was not so bad really, with a 73. Kevin Chappell finished last. No one picked either of Gardiner or Chappell so no points were awarded there.

The next event sees the Fantasy League switch to the European Tour for the Johnnie Walker Championship.
