The Trilby Tour 2013 venues
Utter dog-eggs.
Nothing in Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire or Berkshire.
Which means my £275 will get me a round at King's Hill, near Maidstone.

I have been banned from the Trilby Tour.
You're not allowed to express disappointment at the venues chosen, apparently.

Nope.
I got my £50 deposit back when I wasn't going to pay the balance (£225) anyway so that's a result. You normally lose your deposit if you choose not to play.

That's a result then. Was the ban as a result of your direct complaint or cyber stalking you to check no one bad mouths them?

It was following a series of messages on the website. It was all very civilised as far as I was concerned but they appear to have a no criticism policy.

I might use it to enter a Trilby Tour qualifier

What was the venue Merc that you were not happy with. The first year the Trilby Tour started I was very interested. The tour bags people got were proper Callaway tour bags. Now its over double the initail entry fee and seems the callaway bags are really rather tat in my opinion. It's probably a great day out but could never justify the price to the wife in today's climate? Thoughts??

Kings Hill, Matelot.
The TT (south-east) was at the London Club for 3 years, Foxhills for 2 and has now gone to Kings Hill. The price has gone up 10% this year from £250 last year and we're playing at a lesser course.
Interesting stuff you say about the entry fee doubling and the bags used to be proper Tour Bags. My TT bag from last year was the kind of bag you'd get in the late 80s. Very basic.
Kings Hill is a course where a lot of Trilby Tourians play. Go figure.

Yeh, I think the whole event has gotten abit out of hand and is almost cringeworthy with the commentry during the coverageThey treat that James Voce like he's the 'David Beckham' of the tour!! Even asking for his thoughts on what other players will do in the final. Didnt realise he was a John e Morgan or a Denis Pugh ' thanks for the insight' not!!
Don't get me wrong, it's probably tops for those that play in it, but my initial enthusiasm to give it a go one year has now all but gone.

I've never understood why they play at Sprowston. When I had my stag do in Norfolk, that was the course my non-golfing friends hacked around as they didn't require handicaps. £275 is an awful lot of money to play anywhere, never mind somewhere like that.

5 of the 8 venues this year are Marriott Hotels.
