Re: Trilby Tour 2012
Jamie Voce from my club was 2010 East of England champion, 2011 Norfolk champion and 2011 amateur champion - gobby bastard who won't enter any stableford comps as he thinks its unfair on lower handicappers. Didn't moan too much when he was playing me in the club scratch comp, because I was giving him 10 shots. I'm sure he was playing off 4 then???

That's surprising, Doc, as he came a cross as a decent fellow on the TV.

I'm in for Frilford Heath along with JAS.
Just need to find a caddy now, if Westy isn't playing that week I'll tweet him and ask if I can borrow Billy Foster

As you indicated he played off 4, there could be some banditry involved as I think he may have been off 7 in the 2011 TT.

Re: Trilby Tour 2012
Merc, D4S not going to say that he played off the wrong handicap, but I'm sure he was playing off 4 when I played him a couple of seasons ago. He's also treasurer and committee member, so not going to call him a cheat. I don't personally like the bloke because he comes accross as stuck up his own arse, but then plenty have told me he's a good guy when you get to know him. He did however wind me up in our match, because all he wanted to do was rubbish club medals as they favoured high handicappers etc, which winds me up. He's also one of the low handicappers who have managed to get us playing off the championship tees instead of white's. I managed to take him to the 15th in our match, but I threw it away because I was so wound up. fair play to the lad though and suppose he'll be entering again this year.

It's been kicking off on the TT Facebook pages because there's no Ireland or Scotland events - they will get their deposits refunded, though.

Yep as D4S says I'm in at Frilford on 16th May, just doon the road for me really. There does appear to be a few new venues and a few of last years have not repeated this year. I get the impression a club will do it one year then realise that actually they don't get much out of it. Looking forward to it, played Frilford before and the greens are super....See you in the final Merc

Re: Trilby Tour 2012
Tee times released for Foxhills today. I'm in the first quarter of 40 groups which is good from a playing point of view but not so good in a having to hang around and see if I qualify for a play-off point of view.
Is there still a chance I can meet D4S and JAS on Finals Day?

Only if we come spectating Merc, D4S missed the 6 way shoot out for the last 3 places by a point, I managed to put quite some distance between me and qualification :-/
Good luck at Foxhills, are you out anywhere near TS?

That's a shame, JAS. A good effort from D4S, though.
I'm 3.5 hours before Edward. I believe I'm the initial draw for the spectators and then they'll follow Sheringham after I've finished

Good Luck Merc. Teddy will crumble when he sees how high you've set the bar on the leaderboard!

What's happened to D4S JAS? I miss him on here. Have we upset him?

Ditto LP - I don't recall anything going on here that might have put him off but who knows (unless he just didn't like it being so very quiet here at times)

Cheers, me dear.
I had 32 points off the Whites there last Friday - I didn't have worse than a bogey until the 17th when I did a Westwood and hit a ball up a tree that didn't come back down - so I have a bit of confidence going into the event.
I will lose 3 shots after the handicap reduction (3/4), but I'd take 29 points plus whatever I get after another go on 17th on the day.

Re: Trilby Tour 2012
Davie, Ladyputt D4S is alive and well, had a beer with him last night, we're both down in Saunton for the Logan Trophy. He should be approaching the turn about now. I'm off at 11.30. Certainly nobody upset him, I think with the lack of activity on the forum people are just slowly drifting away.
Merc, I played Frilford 3 times before my TT event and my worst score was 33 (ok best was only 34 - but all 3 rounds were pretty consistent). On the day...26 points....beware the curse of the cameras!!!

Good luck today to you and D4, JAS - tell him to get his ass back here, even if only from time to time to say hello

Wow, the bare minimum D4S. Glad to hear you're still alive and well; sorry to hear you missed out by the smallest of margins at your qualifying comp.
We have a summer eclectic if you're interested.

Good to see you D4S - even in such a minimalist form
We may be quiet on here but there is still good stuff going on. Don't be a stranger!
