Premier League Football - Predictions and Fantasy Leagues

I know it seems a little early to be talking about this yet, but I've just had email notifications that the predictions league for the EPL is now open and taking new league creations

I know we had only 4 (I think) people in the World Cup predictions, but would there be enough interest to start a Golf Chat league for the upcoming season?

I'm happy to set a league up if we have enough people willing to give it a shot

Also, the fantasy league sites will be going live soon - I doubt we'd get enough people interested in that to have a Golf Chat league but I always run another league for ex-members of a website I used to run MANY years ago - over the years, the membership has dropped off a little but I've invited friends from other websites to join that one to keep the numbers up - so again, if anyone is interested in joining that, please let me know and I'll send the invites out when the league is up and running

Yep - just predict the score of each match. You can (I think) enter up to about 6 weeks worth of predictions at a time, or (more naturally) make your predictions every week. I think the website emails you (if you want) to remind you if you haven't made your picks for the week

OK I've set up our league - I've used the old Sports Guru site again as was used during the Euros but they have merged with another site now and the site is known as SuperBru

The URL for our league should be http://www.superbru.com/epl/pool_overview.asp?p=11004376 but if that link doesn't work just go to the main page and search for "Golf Chat UK" - the code to enter our league is woolrams
Let's try to get a few more in there! It only takes a couple of minutes every week to make your choices

Also as mentioned in the opening post, I have a league already set up for a fantasy league - there won't be enough of us here to set up our own league but anyone who wishes to join this pre-existing league is very welcome

I am up for some fantasy football. I usually play the Yahoo, Sky and Official Barclays one. I like the official one least tbh. Yahoo is excellent but high maintenance. You can change your whole team each week and if you don't put that kind of effort in you will be left behind by the players who do. Sky is dead easy, 11 players (no more than 2 from any one club), 25 or 30 transfers a season (max 5 a month). I have my sky and yahoo teams already set up, I don't mind setting up a league if there is enough interest... and by enough interest I mean two other people... it will take less than a minute.

Davie, is there a cut off for when you have to make the predictions on Super Bru?

I think the only cut off is before the game kicks off - so for 7(?) of the matches this weekend, the prediction needs to be made by 3pm UK on Saturday, but I think you can defer your Sunday and Monday picks if you need to.

C'mon folks - get entered into our little league! Also don't forget the fantasy football league...

Oh dear, I don't thnk that many of us would have had the foresight to predict some of the scores which came in yesterday!

No I'd never have got those two 5-0 scores in a million years! Didn#t do too badly though apart from those

PS don't forget there is an extra game this "week" - Chelsea/Reading on Wednesday night. When I first make my picks that game wasn't there but you can go back and make your choice - last game in week 1

You're very welcome there Red - not as many in the league this year as in previous years. I think Mary is the only other one from here in that league but I know all the others in there, mostly from a website I used to run many years ago. Club Cribari is the team we all want to beat as he is a yank who knows nothing about football

I'm glad I'm off the bottom at the moment, I'm carrying over my form from the fantasy league

Pretty poor week for me in both the fantasy league and the predictions league! Hopefully a week off for internationals will give my team chance to get up off their backsides!

I also have a fantasy league - same as last year with friends in it from all sorts of places and forums ... I can't access that one from work to give the link but if anyone is interested let me know and I'll give the details - for those who joined in last year you should automatically be added to the league again if you re-register
