Redrage Beats venice1 In Playoff for Season's First Major!
The season's first major held in the Southern California desert ended with a playoff and the winner, Sun Young Yoo, propelled Redrage and venice1 across the line at the same time for a virtual tie and the Fantasy League's equivalent of a 'happy ending.' As there was no tie-breaking procedure in place yet, League Judge LadyPutt promptly heard the caste and issued a ruling, "... I think Redrage should get the nod "on countback"!". JDandfries, Davie and hogie looked to have the inside track until I.K. Kim missed a short putt on the 18th to turn the tourney's finish upside down as well as the Fantasy League results.
The 180 points for first place was the determining point factor for the playoff contenders. The 525 winning point total set a record for one event and Redrage's 360 points awarded for his position finishes also set a record at 360 points. His card had a 1st, 3rd, and two 8ths. The very first ladies event in league history will certainly be labeled a grand success. They're definitely here to stay!

Sounds like a private appointment in the chambers of the Lady Judge may be required to determine the winner!

I'd like to thank Ms Gulbis and her rockin' boobage, without which I'd have went for Wendy Ward in Cat C and never benefited from that fantastic final round. It is a great honour to be a two time major champion and look forward to trying to add to a second green jacket to my collection. I've lost some weight since 2010 so a win this week this would save my tailor some work.
Congrats, Venice also and thanks all!

Being there was not a system in place yet to determine a winner in case of ties, the GCUK Fantasy League will have to use this as a case study, judgement, conclusion and precedent setting action for future events that end in a tie. Fantasy League Judge Ladyputt has made a thorough evaluation of the facts and merits and has ruled ("... I think Redrage should get the nod "on countback"!) that Redrage should be declared the winner for the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship. All appeals must be made within a week of the ruling and be heard in the judge's chambers.
So congratulations to Redrage on being the first to wear a GCUK Fantasy League major tournament belt and all respect due to the League Court for the thoughtful consideration of the case and the subsequent expedient ruling.
And now I must use the occasion to fire my lawyer and use what's left of the retainer fee to buy a case of pale ale to soothe the wounds from the legal beating I've just received.

I would have been happy to share the title with you venice, countbacks are worse than penalty shoot outs!

Thanks R_r. It's better to have a declared victor for every event for the health of the league. It was just a matter of time before it had to be addressed and this league will be better served by responding to the participants' concerns and observations without delay. Also, everyone must believe that they have an equal say in the direction and management of the league regardless of who's the current coordinator. Having been in a few putt-offs to determine who's going to buy the first round of drinks, I don't mind any playoff system as long as I win. If I lose, it's a bum deal but I have an excuse to cry foul.
