Very pleased with my round on Saturday had 39pts stableford and finished Birdie-Par-Par….. This game is too easy … However my next round will not be until September … when are we meant to be finished by?

Nice going Hogie. Final rounds to be completed by September 30 so you might be able to submit all 8 rounds but if not you're still doing well.

I will definately not make 8 rounds.... hopefully i will get 6 in..... But I did improve my Eclectic score by 5 shots with saturdays round....

Yep, last round Davie, but you lost the race to finish first. NBS beat you to that early a couple of days ago.

Last round it was then - and no improvement I'm afraid. No official results up yet to screenshot but I know I didn't make any headway. Do you still require a card from me?

Wish I'd kept a few eclectic rounds in reserve now I've got new sticks - they behaved pretty well again today - sadly just missed my buffer zone by 1 stroke but the damage was mostly done by my usually trusty 3 wood. It must be jealous of the new irons!

Bit of a shocker on Saturday, after a really solid start.

After a dodgy hooked tee shot in to the rough on the first, stroked a six iron to 8 feet from 180 yards. Missed the birdie putt, but at least saved par and settled the nerves. I went on to par 7 of the first 8 holes, finding fairway after fairway, and then green after green in regulation.

Then it all went wrong with the big stick... started pulling everything way left into trouble. The outcome was four 7's on the back nine (all on par 4's), a very disappointing outcome indeed! I felt my game was so close as well, but it's back to the drawing board!

I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder that is giving me some discomfort.

Had a a matchplay tie last night, played 5 holes was all square, then lost 6,7,8,9,10,11, & 12. At the end I could hardly hold the club in my left hand.

Got a doc's appointment tomorrow, for some acupuncture. This has worked in the past, so here's hoping.

Had the acupuncture session on Wednesday. Going to give it a go on Saturday. So here's hoping.

Good eclectic round for me today but poo scoring. Still peed about it now, 4 foo kin 8 s in a foo kin 88. Three birdies did help but a foo kin.... alright time to move on

Well tried to play Saturday.
Not bad hooked 3 iron off the first tee, wedge just short of the green, stubbed my chip, stubbed my next chip & followed through to double hit, eventually putted onto the green. A big fat lady to start (.

Was hooking everything all day, probably protecting my damaged left shoulder. Did manage a few nice holes. In fact not too bad until the last. Drove into the first bunker on the left of the green. Usually from there I either thin it over the clubhouse or dump it into the greenside bunker about 5 yards further on. This time into the greenside bunker, right under the lip. After watching Tiger play a similar shot at the open, I thought I'd give it a try. After several swishes at it I eventually got it out. Having lost count of the number of attempts I had, luckily my marker was taken careful notice. So off I went with a TEN. Not bad for a hole Not bad for a 224 yard par 3.

Grumps - I think you must've missed a post of mine - looking at the updated leaderboard I think I've finished now. I did post on here that I'd played my final round and hadn't improved and I asked if you needed the scores - I got no reply so assumed you didn't. I think I still have my own record of the final round if you need it but sadly my race is now run and I haven't improved.

Let me know if you still need Rd 8 scores and I'll see if I can find them

Chipping & putting helped the score.

Played Round 5 on Saturday. A few silly errors caused by a lack of focus, but other wise pretty solid.

Solid doesn't win the eclectic though. I have gross pars on my card on every hole now, but its been a long time since I spotted a birdie.

Okay, so I lied about an updated leaderboard. If the greens are fine after aeration I will get two rounds in this holiday weekend.

Will get an update this weekend, I promise.....

Greens have come back very well after aeration about 10 days ago. A so so round for me, 1 over the new handicap. Don't worry 3/4 means no difference to what I've been playing off

Low lights include 3 putting the par 4 8th for par . Positives were pars on 11 and 18 which have meant a 3 shot improvement for my score. Still two holes to par for me so still room for improvement.

Hope to get another round in on bank holiday Monday.

So today's round was a bit of a waste of time but as one of the group put it, it was better than working. Everything was just a little bit off in my game, hit some good shots, hit some poor ones. Had some good putts and some poor ones too. No improvement whatsoever

My final round this weekend too.

Was really inspired by Poulter's 5 birdie finish on Sat night, and so went for broke on Sunday. Ended up shooting a gross 60 (11 under par), had a putt for a 59 on the last but just lipped out. Still my best ever round, and I smashed the course record by 5 shots. Might get a hefty handicap cut as well.

This is an internet forum isn't it? Down the years on 606 and then v2 there has been a pretty consistent theme of performance improvement. I'm sure the average 606 poster can hit their driver well in excess of 300 yards.
