One of the best F1 races for a long time
Anyone else watch the latest F1 from China? Apart from the fact that Nico Rosberg took off from the front and was hardly ever seen again on TV until he crossed the line (a bit like Vettel last year), there was some fantastic racing going on behind him - clean and skillful passing and a great result for McLaren, despite Felipe Masa's best efforts to ruin things. That was followed by some superb doorhandling at Donington for the BTCC and interesting street racing in Marakesh for the WTCC. Wow - what a Sunday for petrolheads

Yep - I'm not a massive F1 fan but I do tend to watch some and at least follow the results even if I don't sit glued to it for the whole race. That was one of the best I've seen for a long time though

Yesterdays Spanish GP was probably one of the strangest, but well pleased for Sir Frank's team to at last post a result after all these years. Pity about the garage going up in smoke afterwards and 41 people getting injured. Hamilton penalised again because of his team, Button not competing, The kraut yet again ramming someone off the road and then blaming them, Red Bull also struggling and massa being incompetent compared to Alonso in the farrari, so gues massa will be gone this year - who to take his seast I wonder. Could be great to see hamilton and Alonso in the same team again - fireworks there me thinks.

Seventh race, seventh winner - and this time it was Lewis Hamilton whose two-stop strategy paid off ... whereas Alonso must have been livid with Ferrari for deciding to stop just once. On the other hand, Grosjean (2nd) and Perez (3rd) both only stopped once as well so I'm not what his excuse was!
A great race to watch (and some great racing at Oulton Park for the BTCC where Matt Neal with two wins & Gordon Shedden with one made it a clean sweep for Honda - and at Lydden Hill in Kent on Saturday where LordPutt was a class winner in his Subaru!).

Not so much of a Petrolhead LP but congrats to LordPutt for his victory!
We had the Pocono 400 NASCAR race this weekend locally. Apparently the city of Long Pond becomes the third most populated city in Pennsylvania during race week.

Another cracking race in Valencia - not apparently known for its overtaking sports, but try telling that to the drivers Some of the moves had no more than a fag paper between the cars.
Glad Alonso won - I never used to be a great fan but he's growing on me and when he was in tears as he crossed the line for his first win at his home circuit, I felt Must be my long-hidden maternal instinct coming out.
