WGC - Cadillac Championship
First topic message reminder :
Tee times for the first two rounds are out for the Cadillac at the Blue Monster, Doral
I must admit to a little "wow factor" when I heard the marquee grouping of McIlroy, Donald and Westwood for the first two days. Yes, they are 1, 2, 3 in the world but with the "alleged" resurgence of Tiger, plus the likes of Simpson, Bradley and Stanley along with the more established Phat Phil, Dustbin, Stricker etc I guess I expected the top three to be mixed in with some top US players
Tiger grouped with Watney (he of the thousand yard stare) and Garcia which surprised me a little. I'd have expect them to manufacture a slightly more glamourous group for him

Re: WGC - Cadillac Championship
So Blubba makes it an amazing last hole playing 18 on his own as Bradley played 1 in reverse. Great approach only to miss the putt, he had been tentative with his putting on 17 and also on 18 last night. Looked like it was. Good line but not quite hard enough.
Congrats to Rosie, only his 4th win on the PGA Tour but a first WGC and the win has put him tied 2nd on the list of English winners on the PGA Tour.

Amazing how both McIlroy and Donald have forced themselves back into the mix this weekend after pretty mediocre (by their standards) Thurs & Fri.
Incidentally I'm down your way Thurs, there's 12 of us playing the Blue/Orange 9's. How's it playing at the moment?
I played the Blue last week - it's ok, still a little bit soggy in a few places, but I guess that will have dried out by Thursday. Haven't played the Orange since before Christmas, but apparently the greens on that 9 are playing quite well. Hope you enjoy your day - if you haven't played the Orange before, take a moment to enjoy the views when you're at the top of the course.
*Disclaimer - I don't play at other courses that often, so should not be considered too much of a connoisseur re. the course conditions!

Well managed to find the place in the pea soup!!... Real shame about the fog, ended up delaying our tee time by almost an hour and a half (to be fair they did their best to get us off as soon as it was safe). Loved the layout Mary, the Blue & Orange provide a good contrast. Played reasonably well tee to green but If I'm absolutely honest the greens I found to be a bit furry. Not unhappy with 37 stableford points but would certainly like to return when I'd be able to see more than driver distance and take in the lovely views I'm sure there are from some of the higher parts of the course. All in all though a lovely friendly club who look after their visitors well.

Perhaps that is why Ms Surry likes them?
