The fifth event of the season takes place in L.A. at the Riviera Country Club. Last years champ, Aaron Baddeley, will defend his title against the likes of World Number One Luke Donald and the rest of the PGA Tour's paparrazi seeking guests and members. This is a Weighted 1 contest and serves as the first leg on the GCUK Fantasy League's U.S. Styley Tour 2012 for 4 consecutive weeks, the other three being the Accenture Match Play, The Honda Classic and the Cadillac Championship. Two of the dates are WGC sponsored which forced the fantasy league schedule to include them due to sanctioning by the European Tour which considers them ET point events as well. And someone certainly has said at least once in this Hollywood playground, "Let's do golf sometime."

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.
Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Hmm... well it would seem that if the muppet got invited, he would have made it on the entry list. If a golfer is not officially entered into the tournament and one selects that golfer as one of their picks, that person is essentially intentionally invalidating one of the picks before the play begins.

This may have to be a question that the League Judge LadyPutt would have to address if that is the case as it would raise ethical questions involving the league's activities. I'm not sure what her positions are concerning competition, entertainment, sportsmanship, spirit of play and personal rights and liberties. Have you considered hiring a criminal attorney before you present your case before the League Court?

A. Have been getting up very early since a lad as my father was a career military man, meaning we (his sons) were going to follow his daily routine (which meant no sleep) and work habits. Funny how none of us (4 sons) ever enlisted into the military service. But usually I'm at the gym by 5:00 a.m. unless I have an early tee time. (Which hasn't been the case for 8 months due to a bad ACL in the knee but should be hitting short irons next week.)
