It could all come down to one win in round one for SetupDetermines. He and RedRage are guaranteed the same number of points for the rest of the tournament. BlueCoverman is hopeful as he has slightly different picks left. Mary_S felt the spotlight, shied away, and slipped back; maybe next time she will be the one to watch. LadyPutt has five picks through like Mary but she has now lost her pick for the overall win. Davie and 1GrumpyGolfer are just along for the ride but Davie does have his pick for overall win left.

Jason Day into the semis and guaranteed place points for everyone bar Davie.

Beaky coming from behind against Fowler and has a 1up lead through 16 after winning 4 straight holes.

The other two matches are pretty tight, Els has a 1up lead on Spieth, the other is all square through 9 & 8 holes respectively.

Couple of bad swings, landing in the wrong spots by small margins and Beaky is out losing to Fowler on the last.

Dubuisson is 1up after a chip in against McDowell on 9. Els 2up on Spieth through the 12th. They'll be the majority of Fantasy Leaguers, especially Davie, hoping that he can comeback against Els.

And me and Mary hoping that he can't...

It's been a long 12 months but justice is finally done   

The defeat of Graeme McDowell saw Davie's participation in the matchplay finish. Not only did he lose his overall pick for the win but the two other picks he had left.

A quarter finals win for Ernie Els decided the matchplay; the margin of victory is still to be decided. All remaining GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers have a pick in each of the semi finals. BlueCoverman and Mary_S also have Ernie Els.

Maybe next year, rather than pick one winner from 64, we get a choice of one from each of the brackets.

Would make it more enjoyable, and a lot more peeps would have more chance to win...

Congratulations Blue and well done Mary; the inspired pick of Ernie Els made all the difference in the end.  The margin of victory was not as much as it could have been after Ernie ran out of gas against Rickie Fowler.
 
As lots of big guns are playing the Honda Classic we'll be staying with the PGA Tour for event number 12.

Great comeback from Victor. Dormie two down and now we're onto extra holes. Jason Day left his match winning putt in the jaws; will he rue that?

That's some up and down from Victor from the base of a cactus after he nuked his approach. Matched by a fine sand save from Day. Now playing the ninth as their 20th hole...

This guy's a magician!  He did it again from the bushes. Day had a look on his face that said "are you fucking kidding me?!?!?"
 
Victor had a putt to win on the 22nd hole and it was an ounce or two short on pace.  Will he be the one to rue his missed chance?

What a final; Jason Day eventually finished off Victor Dubuisson on the 5th extra hole. He was never down in the final and has probably given himself the boost to really challenge at the Masters.

Anyone else feeling a bit    after not getting to bed until after 1 this morning? The whole match was enthralling from start to finish - pity Victor (of the enigmatic smile) didn't win but his time will surely come, especially with an ability to escape from trouble which even Seve would have been hard pressed to emulate (I loved Jason Day's reaction to the second one)? Anyone else not miss Woods' participation

With his matchplay record he would have only been there on the Wednesday anyway!
 
Enthralling stuff wasn't it. When Victor escaped with a half for the second time out of the cactus I thought that his name must be on the trophy, but fair play to Jason Day he probably just deserved to edge it.
 
Getting back to Woods I can't see him beating Jack's record now and personally that's fine by me. There are just too many good young players who not only have the talent and ability but also the nerve and bottle as well. Dubuisson, English and Spieth were just three such examples of that this week.
