Some funny ones in relation to names of babies registered in Scotland over the last year.
Among the pearlers were:

Pochahontas
Boo- Tiger
Storm
Wynter Wood

Can only imagine they came from the underclass.

There was a pikey family in one paper the other year who named their son:
Drew Peacock.

You only have to look at the leaderboard at any PGA Tour event for a nice long list of silly names. Here are a few I can think of...

Keegan
Chad
Brandel
Kyle
Bubba
Boo
Randy
Hale
Hunter
Bryce
Corey
Webb
Vaughn
Tiger

Probably the most stupid name I have ever heard, and doubly embarassing by insisting on being called it.

D4S - remember there used to be a presenter on TVS called Chris Peacock? He used to pronounce it "Crispy-c***" as well. Always had me in stitches.

LJ - your first one's called Slug ... how about Lettuce?

I still think it's got to be 'Elwood' if its a boy; that's a given. Why not name your girl 'Bella' (in homage to Golf-chat's very own pin-up girl).....

Hi LJ and congratulations

Seemingly Zander [Alexander] is the most popular boys name on the Shetland Isles. I quite like it myself although I have a suspicion it is the name of a fish species.
The Shetlands is now officially Scotlands 'best place to live'. The cooncil negociated a .01p % deal on all oil 'landed' back in the Thatcher years and it is now pulling in the benefits.

Well, if it has to be a Shetland name, how about Lerwick which is the name of the town as shown in the photo accompanying the 'best place to live' article in the Scotsman.com

http://www.scotsman.com/news/scottish-news/edinburgh-east-fife/shetland_is_named_best_place_to_live_in_scotland_1_2024273

I don't know about the 3 hours less sun per day statistic as being good for one's golf game.

I still maintain 'Elwood' for a boy. It's a cool name and when he's about 17, playing lead guitar and pulling chicks galore he will thank you and you will in turn get to letch at a bevy of 18 year olds trooping after him. Besides if you call him Elwood and your missus knocks out another chubby in a couple of years, you can call him 'Jake'. If you have a lil girl, you have the 'Bella' and 'Megan' option. Everyone's a winner cheers

'Neil Doon' and 'Fallon Doon' would indeed be an unfortunate names for the child - perhaps 'Stan Dup' would be more appropriate! John Thomas is also very popular in these parts. But my all time favorite is that well known German Skier: Fanny Schmelling

I have played golf with Jimmy Riddle and Adam Zapple.

I love the thinking of the parents who named their golfing daughter Chrystal. Well done Mr & Mrs Caithness. Very bonnie lassie who is a future Scottish golf star.

For those who are confused Caithness Chrystal is a well known Scottish chrystal glass company.

LJ have you and your lady made a decision yet?

PS
When I used to do open competition draws and there was the odd gap.
Instead of putting the A N Other name up I used to make up different names such as Sam Wannelse and Anne Otherone.

Think the Nevillle Neville thing is a Welsh thing. Not uncommon there, doesn't make it right though.
One of our NCT group couples is called House and the woman had Iona as a possible name. The hubby had to point out the problem. Rolling Eyes
