GolfChatUK Fantasy League 2013-2014 - Winter/Spring Session - Event #10 TBD
I thought the bigger format was good fun Grumps, so if you don't mind the extra work then yes please continue as you suggest!
That is unless you can think of an alternative format whereby you don't win every week?

I'll see what I can do I'm thinking admin and stats wise to keep the low round bonus points as they are seeing as there are more chances to have picked a player that's among them.

I enjoyed the new format, and would be happy to continue with this as long as you don't mind the extra work.
The higher number of picks might even give Davie a chance to get into triple figures!

Grumps hasn't got the time for us to do 20 picks each Mary!

Yes. Change is good as a rest.
Though in my case still couldn't score a goal, if the net was empty.

Think I'm going to go with Riveria; there were 140 players on the list of a 144 man field yesterday. The Africa Open was missing about 8 players when I last checked.

It's rare to find somebody who is worse than me - I have to make the most of it!

I am not a big fan of this format, but it probably works quite well in a massive field like last week - especially in the less prestigious fields. I much prefer the old format and going for events with strong fields. I realise it is a massive undertaking for 1GG though, and in no way trying to criticise his efforts.

Posting here too, hadn't noticed Red's comments before adding a comment on the actual event thread.
I plumped for this event solely on the participation of Steve Surry and it wasn't until after the OWGR was applied that I noticed there wasn't anyone in the top 100.
Glad to hear your thoughts Red. It's not an exact science and maybe field sizes need to be taken into account for expanded picks. The Masters, for example, has less than 100 players normally so picking 12 players would be excessive. I think it worked for the Joburg Open because there were 210 players that were then cut to 65 and ties.
Thoughts on field sizes of approximately 120-156: stick with four categories and but reduce to two picks, or, back to three categories and but up picks to three. Masters and limited field events, like WGCs and ET finale series, back to original format?
I'm just trying to get the balance right and to keep it interesting for all concerned, if possible, comments welcome everyone.

It was a novelty to do something a bit different, but I'm quite happy to return to the tried and tested formula of three categories and three picks.
As GG suggested, maybe just use the 4 categories for a really large field, when the hackers are included!
