Bad decision at the weekend Empty Bad decision at the weekend

Post by gwr-golfer Tue Mar 19, 2013 9:18 am

AAAARRRGGGHHH - I made a bad decision on Saturday - I went out and played with my mates ... they played in the competition ... I said I didn't want to play in it as the weather was really bad & didn't want to go up 0.1, but I did play...

So - I posted 2 over my handicap ---- it was "reduction" only and I would have WON the comp by 2 shots ----- not only that but the top 8 qualified for a knockout --- so I'm now pig sick Evil or Very Mad

But was that because the pressure was off? I played really well one time because I thought I wasn't going to finish the round. Well played though Bad decision at the weekend 1927768590

"reduction" only : no club is allowed to run a "reduction" only comp.

You're not allowed to declare "reduction only" in advance - I guess what gwr means is that the CSS went to > SSS+2 which in effect makes it reduction only

SSS+3 you mean davie Innocent agree though it doesn't read to me like GWR is stating the comp was declared non-counting prior to the start of play - keep your hair on setup

i turned up late to an open competition once as the secretary had given me the wrong tee time over the phone ( Rolling Eyes ). the starter gave me a later tee time - i knew i was going to get DQ'd ... went on to shoot a decent score that would have got me 3rd scratch and 3rd handicap prizes...such is life

Rolling Eyes Step away from the big wooden spoon Blue, that's not what I meant and you know it Evil or Very Mad . All I was trying to say was that GWR would have possibly approached it with a different mindset had he entered the comp. That's not to say he wouldn't have played as well or even better.

I did not say that it was RUN as a "Reduction Only" - why did you assume that ??????

The system works it out .....

I was relaxed - and it probably did make a difference to my mental state - so there was no pressure

It was Grumps who made the 'pressure' remark not me GWR, I wouldn't dare suggest such a thing! Innocent
