'1GrumpyGolfer' Is The Open Champ!

1GrumpyGolfer is the GCUK Fantasy League winner of The Open event as he managed to hold off a determined Doc who was the only Leaguer to choose Adam Scott, the tournament's 2nd place finisher. Nobody chose the actual winner Ernie Els as one of their Category B selections to their detriment. 1GrumpyGolfer took home the cup with steady play in the final round as three of his picks scored: Louis Oosthiuzen, Ian Poulter and Thorbjorn Olesen. Tiger Woods was the most popular choice for those making big strides up the leaderboard on Sunday as he finished tied for third: Redrage, oldshanker, raycastleunited, hogie and oldparwin.

LadyPutt added 30 points for picking Nicolas Colsaerts who had the low round of the day at -5. She also scored the most total points on Day 4 with 165 by having one pick tied for 7th and 2 others tied for 9th. hogie was able to score a rare double by having chosen Andres Romero who not only shot the worse round of the day but also had the honor of finishing dead last. In the end, the four closest competitors to the winner all had higher point totals for the final round but as a final nail in the coffin for their visions of missed opportunities coming true, 1GrumpyGolfer as well as oldparwin were the only competitors who had Ernie Els as a reserve pick. Once again The Open revealed greater depth in the victor's arsenal.
