GB&I girls win Curtis Cup
Well done to the GB&I girls for winning the Curtis Cup! Having lost the opening 3 foursomes matches, they pulled back to win 2 of the 3 afternoon fourballs to finish the first day trailing 4-2. They then lost the next day's opening foursomes 2-1 but bounced back to win the fourballs by 2.5 to 0.5 and go into the final day trailing 5.5 to 6.5. In the final round of singles, they won 5 matches to 3 and snatched the cup by 10.5 to 9.5. It means Europe or GB&I now hold all the major trophies they compete for against the USA. The Curtis Cup joins the Ryder, Solheim and Walker Cups on this side of the Atlantic for the first time in golf history.

Pretty amazing result from the girls there LP! They seemed to be getting turned over badly at the start of the weekend and everyone was writing them off - a really good comeback!

Everything I was reading was doom and gloom, as we were being put to the sword according to media sources. Well done girls for showing fight and battling back from the brink.
On a serious note though, irrespective of how our girls played, it just shows the depths the US girls have sunk to because I believe there are more Europeans in the top 20 than US girls, with the Asian contingent rooling the roost. The USLGA needs to get their house in order otherwise their ladies will not be taking up golf in the numbers they used to.

Great result for GB&I. I was following the live scoring online, it is a shame that we didn't get any live TV coverage. Am I correct in thinking that the Beeb used to give this some airtime in the past?

Sky showed an hour of highlights (at midnight so I recorded it) each day and I watched the singles yesterday evening. The girls played really well and I was chuffed to see Charley Hull win her match 5&4 - a great result for a 16-yr-old.
