Ryder Cup
First topic message reminder :
As the next Ryder Cup is going to be a non event do you think that we should ask the USA to consider enlarging thier team to include North and South America?

Re: Ryder Cup
There has been European tour events in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland over the years.
Sweden is the only current one, so makes sense to give it to Denmark.

About as likely as the dates of the RC changing just because you have a rant on here about Tim Finchem.

If they stick to the same time scale Denmark would be the best bet weatherwise. Not sure if they have a decent course but they will have a few years to build one. Frankly they can't possibly do any worse than Celtic Manor.

Of course they have decent courses. Look who has come out of Denmark, Bjorn, Soren Hansen, Anders Hansen, Soren Kjeldsen, Oleson, Huldahl.
They didn't get to be pro by playing on a council course. The website "Top 100 courses" has some amazing looking courses.

Re: Ryder Cup
I was at Celtic Manor for all 4 days, and to be fair having played the 2010 course the layout is great and holes do set up well for matchplay with risk reward holes. But the time of year to play an event in Wales and I fear the same thing for Gleneagles.

The oldest course in Denmark, all year around golf a links course designed by a jock called Dunlop. Theres well over a 100 courses and this one has views, coast and dunes and is a seaside resort

Re: Ryder Cup
D4S thanks, it took me ages to find that, but its still not as bad as one I found earlier, where club rules state: On reaching the green players are asked to take the plug out of the hole, putt out and replace plug Brilliant, no chance of eagles from the fairway ....
