With Alejandro Canizares a foregone conclusion the race was on for second place in Morocco.  13 picks started within the points placings and by the end of the day only 10 remained within the top 20.  RedRage and Davie both had 4 picks earn finish points but only Rafa Cabrera Bello cracked the top 5 for RedRage.  SetupDetermines had 3 picks earn finish points and again the best of his finishers was Cabrera Bello.  BlueCoverman and Mary both had 2 picks earn points and LadyPutt had just 1 pick crash the top 20.  With 3 picks earning points including 2 of the top 3 1GrumpyGolfer strolled to victory. The selection of the right French chopper, Edouard Dubois, who finished last added more placings points.  His total was further enhanced by Andy Sullivan who shot 63 for the best round of the day.  Duncan Stewart and Jose Manuel Lara both shot 79 to tie for worst round of the day; neither of these were picked by 1GrumpyGolfer or anyone else for that matter.
 
With no European Tour events until April the GolfChatUK Fantasy League returns to the PGA Tour for the next couple of weeks.

The good scoring seemed to stop for GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers; only 8 of the remaining 26 picks broke par and only 1 made the Top 10 Low Round scores.  Tyrell Hatton was the only 1 to break 70 and that's what was needed to earn points; 1GrumpyGolfer the lucky recipient.  At the other end of the leaderboard Edouard Dubois was the only one not to break 80 and his 81 was the worst round by 2 shots.  1GrumpyGolfer, again, was the only one to pick him.
 
The tournament looks to be Alejandro Canizares' to lose; he has a 6 shot lead over the rest of the field.  The picks within the higher placings are thinning out a little bit but 13 still remain in the points.

No managed to get all of their picks through to the weekend; the closest contenders were 1GrumpyGolfer, who missed by one shot, RedRage, and SetupDetermines who each had eight picks earning two cut bonuses.  Davie, LadyPutt, and BlueCoverman all earned one cut bonus as they had seven, six, and five picks through respectively.  Only Mary_S failed to earn a cut bonus as she lost picks in each category, she's left with five for the weekend.
 
Davie and BlueCoverman earned low round bonus points through David Horsey's fine play; his 64 was the best of the day by three shots.  Mikael Lundberg had a day to forget as he finished with an 84.
 
There are picks still in the top 20 placings and with more bonus points on offer some good pep talks might be needed to make the difference.

After the early wave of starters got off to a fast start the afternoon bunch couldn't really keep up.  It's a mixed bag for GolfChatUK Fantasy Leaguers as over half of our picks are under par but there's a few who need some really good play tomorrow to stick around for the weekend.  There was some really great scoring with 15 picks with the top 20 positions but to get amongst the points you needed a score of 66 or better.  Four picks made that and 1GrumpyGolfer sets the early lead as he had three of those picks.  Davie and LadyPutt each had a high performer and they lead the chasing group along with Mary_S who had a pick score points for all the wrong reasons.  Yasin Ali unfortunately got himself jinxed by Mary and he slumped to an 84.  Alejandro Canizares sets the early pace with a -10 round of 62 which included a bogey and no eagles!

No one in the top 50 in the OWGR graces Morocco with their presence, the highest ranked is George Coetzee at 56.  Marcel Siem is back to defend his wire to wire victory from last year when he was trying desparately to get into the Masters.  With his current ranking at 112 he will need a miracle to try and get there this year.  
 
We are back to our regular three Categories but you still need to pick three, plus reserve, from each one.  The additional cut bonus points are still on offer this time around.  If you get all of your picks through in any category you get a small bonus.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.
 
This is a full field with cut event, so cut points will be available; see above.

RULES
 
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:
 
Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
 
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
 
If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
 
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the GolfChatUK Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
 
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be treated as nil scoring. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
 
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 2 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4 and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1 and 7, reserve 3 from Category B, players 1 and 2, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
 
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
 
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
 
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Feeling very guilty about that pick! Yasin is a lovely lad, was in the England Boys set up at the same time as Steve, I didn't mean to jinx him - it was a show of faith in his ability!   

Oh dear, he's just had some big numbers on his card. Worse round might not go to Yasin as another player is now 10 over with quite a few holes to play.

With Alejandro Canizares a foregone conclusion the race was on for second place in Morocco. 13 picks started within the points placings and by the end of the day only 10 remained within the top 20. RedRage and Davie both had 4 picks earn finish points but only Rafa Cabrera Bello cracked the top 5 for RedRage. SetupDetermines had 3 picks earn finish points and again the best of his finishers was Cabrera Bello. BlueCoverman and Mary both had 2 picks earn points and LadyPutt had just 1 pick crash the top 20. With 3 picks earning points including 2 of the top 3 1GrumpyGolfer strolled to victory. The selection of the right French chopper, Edouard Dubois, who finished last added more placings points. His total was further enhanced by Andy Sullivan who shot 63 for the best round of the day. Duncan Stewart and Jose Manuel Lara both shot 79 to tie for worst round of the day; neither of these were picked by 1GrumpyGolfer or anyone else for that matter.

With no European Tour events until April the GolfChatUK Fantasy League returns to the PGA Tour for the next couple of weeks.
