How Many Putters?
Doing some stuff in my garage yesterday afternoon, and nearly threw up as I noticed my line of putters. Are we all that crazy? because to be fair I rarley swap my putters around, so it seems crazy that I have 5 of them and 4 just lean against the wall.
Rife Island Series
Odyssey White Hot XG
Odyssey White Hot 2-ball
KZG Ltd Edition Forged Blade
In the bag Bettinardi BB25 and has been there for the last 18-months, and can't see it leaving the bag.

Re: How Many Putters?
I have a Scotty Cameron Newport Beach and a Scotty Napa as well.
I've went through a few after the original Beach was stolen including a spider and a different style of cameron but in the end chopping the Beach down to 33.5 inches and weighting it up was the way forwards. Now it won't leave my bag.
That said I ave just reshafted my driver. Been through a few of those.

I've got 3 - my original Ping Anser, a Callaway Tuttle and my current Odyssey 2-ball. The Ping and Tuttle are in the loft!

I have an Odyssey two-ball and a TM Ghost Rossa. The Odyssey went back in the bag after a brief flirtation with the Ghost. Am determined not to be tempted by the next new thing which comes along - the Odyssey is a keeper!
Blue - sounds like you could give my son a run for his money in the putter ownership stakes!

Phew - just boxed them up - at least some of them.
I think about 8 some of which I've LJ'd and shortened, added lead weight and even in one case, filled the shaft with concrete.!
However, I keep on going back to my Scotty teryllium bargain.

Re: How Many Putters?
I've only ever used two (apart from one I must've used when I played for a couple of years as a junior and I have NFC what it was) - when I took the game up again about 15 years ago I used the putter that came with the "beginner's set" of clubs I bought - some Slazenger gooseneck thing if I remember rightly. I then won a John Letters Oddessy putter in a club raffle and I've used it ever since. It works quite nicely most of the time but after the last 27 holes I've played with it, I might have to reconsider
Re: How Many Putters?
I used my Ping Pal for over 20 years, but last year had it chopped down from 36" to 33" (never realised in all that time that it was too long!). Did the trick for a while but I dabbled with the Odysse tri-ball before settling on a Rife Aruba, which may well stay in the bag for another 20 years!

To be fair to some people any putter will do... To others it's hard to find one and when they do they stick to it... and for others, well, let's call them "Collectors"

Certainly not Grumps. They all appear to have the same design fault...they work perfectly in practise and right up to the exact moment when I hand over my hard earned cash for them

Re: How Many Putters?
Ah the frozen shaft principle.
The shaft is frozen in place until it reaches the vicinity of the till. Once the transaction is completed the irreversible thawing process is set into action, by the time you reach the first tee or green that shaft is now like a writhing snake and is uncontrollable.
Still think it's the archer in this case

Re: How Many Putters?
Actually all joking aside, putting has always been one of the strongest parts of my game and I have changed my putter very rarely.
Mind you I did treat myself to the Scotty Cameron California putter a couple of years ago and indeed it is a thing of beauty...but at £200 it bloody well should be!

Re: How Many Putters?
BC you think that's expensive. Last year the wife wanted a new putter for her birthday, and because i had a boys trip planned, I decided to surprise her and get in her good books. I went out of my way to find her a limited edition Scotty Cammeron 'My Girl' which I got for the bargain price of £700. Could have paid much more by the way but was lucky to find someone in Ireland who had one still in the wrapper. She was over the moon with the Scotty because it has pink markings on the back, and flower power grip ..... A couple of days later she ripped into me about the boys trip, and she has no idea about the cost of that club, or the trouble I had getting it. I wish I had bought her a second hand Dunlop now

BC she does my head in at times This afternoon we're both going down to Cambridgeshire for the weekend, and playing 3-rounds of golf with family. before I left for work this morning I got out some golf gear for her to pack. She's just rung me and said she's changed 2 of the shirts as they don't match one pair of trousers and and she's also changed my belt because it clashes .... It's a fashion show for ladies of course, as she'll be competing with my sister, for the catwalk prize. They'll both play crap but look good
