Soccerball - the Cardiff Red Dragons Empty Soccerball - the Cardiff Red Dragons

I read today that the new Malaysian owners of Cardiff City, AKA the Bluebirds, want the team to change from its traditional blue strip to an all red kit. This would be accompanied with a rebranding of the team as the Red Dragons.

The thinking behind this is that dragons and the colour red are more marketable in asia and China in particular.

Personally I think this is hilarious, I can't stand Cardiff fans and I really hope this happens. How would you guys feel about changing the identity of your club to boost shirt sales in China?

I am sure that most Cardiff fans are reasonable people but I was witness to one incident where I thought they didn't do themselves particularly proud.

It was the weekend after the death of Princess Diana. All Premier and League clubs were to hold a minutes silence before the start of each game. My team, Colchester Utd, were hosting Cardiff at our old Layer Road ground and one end was full with about 2000 of their fans. As the minutes silence began they immediately sang:-

"You can poke your Royal Family up your arse, you can poke your Royal Family up your arse, poke your Royal Family, poke your Royal Family, poke your Royal Family up your arse"

The Ref let it go for about 10-15 seconds before blowing his whistle and abandoning the tribute. The rest of the crowd booed the Cardiff fans loudly and incessantly. Layer Road was the only ground that day where the minutes silence was not observed.
