GolfChat charities
Some of you may have read the chat between Mav and me about Help4Heroes and the suggestion that we adopt H4H and also Macmillan Cancer Support as GolfChat's "official" charities. My idea is that when anyone was doing something for charity (a marathon or something less strenuous) and you don't have a particular charity in mind, that you adopt one - or both - of those as your charity. We feel that both are very deserving causes and close to the hearts of many posters on here.
If anyone has any other ideas how we as a forum can support these charities, then feel free to give us your ideas.

Re: GolfChat charities
Two very worthy causes LP and ones that I have supported in the past (and will continue to support)
I've played golf days raising money for McMillans (even won one year!) and my local boozer also supports H4H where we often have fund raisers (raffles, quiz nights etc)
Interestingly, last year's captain of my golf club had as his nominated charity for the year, a spin-off from Help for Heroes called "Hounds for Heroes" - they provide working dogs to help wounded and disabled ex-servicemen
I hope someone comes up with some good ideas for you - I'm not one for suggesting charities to other people (I'd rather let them make up their own mind who they want to support) but I expect to be involved in fund raisers for one or both of those charities this year

Re: GolfChat charities
For obvious reasons I've been supporting the breast cancer charity, and Mrs Doc organises a pink day at our golf club each year. It was a massive success from its inception and is now a firm favourite with the members as everyone has plenty of fun. Everyone has to wear at least one item of pink, and this competition has almost a 100% turnout from the membership. So hideos sights out on course with blokes wearing pink tights and tutu's, pink headbands, trousers etc. The best dressed lady award and best dressed male award went to a couple wearing large pink romper suits including pink dummies (Hired from a specialist fetish outfitter) Plenty of cash raised on the day with raffles, prizes, beat the pro, putting comps etc.
Anyone with any ideas for making more cash, or changing the format etc, would be greatly appreciated
