Homework
Is it just me or do you think that we are putting too much pressure on our young children.
My grandson is a P2, he has just turned 6 but he gets at least one hours homework each school night.
He tries very hard and is a bit of a perfectionist so this takes a lot out of him.
His school is highly rated. So I wonder is this normal for other schools.

Re: Homework
Great idea doon, let kids from a young age teach themselves, so that teacher can spend more time marking .... err sorry looking at holiday brochures to see how many weeks they can spend in different countries this school year. Term end soon again isn't it ....

Re: Homework
An hour every night seems a bit excessive to me. Not sure what time kids finish school these dayst hough.

Re: Homework
An hour a night is on average what Mavette has at 11!
My lad of 6 and daughter of 5 get given 2 homework assignments each week which are meant to be aided by the parents so that they learn whilst interacting with their parents instead of being left alone and made ask questions. The idea being the parent helps nuture their learning whilst the child doesn't feel pressured at not understanding. Works really well.
I think too much is put on the kids when they are given to much too young
