hi all, just wondering out of interest if you are members of other forums. obviously most are double dippers on here with v2, but with the lack of action here i'm guessing some have moved on elsewhere? or have you given up on forums all together?

Well me and Grumps are still here, talking rubbish to each other as usual, but it's a good point Scarpa...where is everybody else these days?

I think most are still here - even s_r pops in from time to time!

The fantasy game still produces chat but with not many big tournaments around at the moment it is bound to be quiet on that front.

Scanning the dark side, there isn't a lot of great import being discussed there either - as old engineers would have it "low signal to noise ratio"

I'm mainly on here, and sometimes on Golf Magic.

Very occasionally dip into the Golf Monthly forum, when I'm bored.

Must admit to looking at the Golf Monthly Forum but not recently. I'm not keen on their layout etc. and it does seem very cliquey, more about who you know on there. Plus you seem to get lots of the same type of threads on there.

I think the time of year plays a big part too on the activity; there's not many big tournaments etc. and people are probably playing less so there's not much to brag or whine about.

I mainly post on HDID. I started posting on there in 2008 & have made some great friends & been on loads of meets & mini meets. Give it a try.

I have to agree with Grumps about Golf Monthly. I find it very cliquey as well.

The "cliquey" thing is the reason why I rarely dip into Golf Monthly - but I couldn't be arsed to work out how to spell it in my original post!

I like the warm, friendly glow which encompasses this forum!

golf part of v2 tends to be a bit quieter these days.

This is the only place I post (see the current Fantasy League thread to see why I've been a bit quiet this week). Agree with Mary, I like the friendly feel here.

I post on wifeswap.com in order to provide reviews of various couples adverts.

The other site has a lot more activity than this one, it doesn't matter, it's not a competition.

I'm back playing and back on here after a break from the game (not that I missed not playing during the last wind/rain/blizzard affected last 14 months)

Welcome back NST or is just NS now? Hope you're getting the bug again and that the weather will be improving for you.

I occasionally have a look at GM & G Magic, but to be fair I'm a little Disillusioned right now. Too cliquey on those boards, and too quiet on here. I still refuse to go to V2 as that whole dick swinging thing annoyed me. I had great hopes for this place as we seemed to have a bunch of level headed posters, who liked a laugh and joke and also enjoyed some debate and grown up conversation. It was a place for the new golfer to ask questions that would be laughed at elsewhere, but would be guaranteed to get an answer and other help and tips from all. It was also a place for the low handicapper where he could brag, get slated and know that these Cat A players would help the rest. Plenty of informed posts and plenty of opinions and ideas, it was a place that was fairly unique as it was inclusive.

Indeed this was proved as it allowed fatties to post, which even SR accepted. It allowed the old geezers like OS to dribble on his bib, and even allowed ladies like Mary to post. LP cannot be classed as a lady by the way, and the well known ladyboy LJ could post whatever he wanted without anyone kicking off. We even allowed that numpty Mac to post once, so it was a great home for us all that moved here. Such a pity that we couldn't grow it or keep people interested.

I still think that the idea of a meet, if had come to fruition would have worked really well on here.

Thank you Grumps. Bit of an enforced lay-off due to being on the 'rock n roll' for a while and selling my clubs so I could errrr eat and I now have a job where I work every weekend and the weather hasn't exactly enticed me back. Now have clubs and am up for a few rounds again..... Sorry I let the side down a bit Doc by disappearing for a long time, but I'm back now. The meets we did in 2011 were really good. The original 606 was okay until the d***heads got going and things got a bit crazy. I think once we are all out there with the sun on our backs things will improve
