BCM is ok as long as you take him as he comes - I normally find firmly by the throat until he turns purple works quite well as you can see from his avatar!

But that 1GG - well he is just the proverbial Englishman in New York...........and long may he stay so

Medinah is a member of the club that banned women from the patio after one of them complained about a bloke swearing on the 18th green when they were having a drink.

Who bar women from the main bar (and I also believe the main restaurant) for most of the year.

And various other things which are incompatible with my own views on things.

Yes it's their club and let them do what they want. Doesn't mean I have to agree with or welcome someone like that though.

As far as I am concerned... Sod off Medinah.

Incidentally my wife, with her long blonde hair, short skirt and high heels was made to feel very welcome there on a visit recently!

i dont agree with them banning females i think its awful that happened, and to be honest i think the club was much better off when females were around there, it was a much better atmoshpere there..

i did have another name on v2, but i stayed away from the golf section due to a lot of problems on there

i have made a post on the golf part of the board to do with when i played in portugal

For the record i personally feel that golf courses are much better with females there as well so everyone mixes, im not sexist and Thorndon Park do allow females

Ignore LJ - most of the time I think he's on a wind-up but unfrotunately it doesn't always come across like that. He's the same on Facebook - some of his postings are downright weird!!

You are very welcome here, as just about everyone else says. I'm not in favour of sexist golf clubs but it's not your fault personally so I won't hold it against you.

Welcome med, I have no choice as Mrs Doc plays and has just returned with me from Spain after a weeks golf. She actually beat me one round

Welcome Med. I don't post that often because I am usually reading on the phone and it is a pain in the @rse to type anything on there.

As we all seem to be establishing our non-sexist credentials I will just add that not only does my wife play but also my 15 year old daughter (and 13 year old son). Added to which my wife's handicap is now 4 shots lower than mine - ouch!
